Stupid Question

A stupid question: can I split the license using 1 for Windows and 1 for Linux?

Only with the Steam version, I believe. The eSellerate license (direct-download) is only for Windows and MacOS, while the Linux direct-download version is from PSID (I believe). The Steam version of the game will run on all three platforms, so if you purchase through Steam you could run the game on all three platforms.
