All Free Agent pitchers showing as relievers
 

After the patch almost all free agent pitchers are showing as relievers.


I have about 10 SPs in my free agent pool (in the off season)....and none of these guys are MLB players (all are young minor leaguers)


The AI is still signing the starters with starter money and I believe they are treating the obvious starters as they should by putting them in the rotation. So the designation appears to be only cosmetic.

On a second look the pool of FA starters is much larger than 10 but they are all minor leaguers...any of the recent FA starters are all listed as relievers.

Also, the Giants signed Severino to a large deal...they put him in the rotation and he now shows as a SP...so it is strictly cosmetic...unless it is affecting the actual real RP market by driving down the cost of real relievers...I will have to advance to find out.

I'm getting the same thing. After update 18.5.54, all my free agent pitchers are all showing up as only relief pitchers. I am using Windows 7.

Mine looks ok, using the quick start at the end of the first season.

For you guys who are having this issue, what league types are you running, with what settings?

Thanks for your prompt response. I am running a small fictional league on a PC that uses Windows 7. All player ratings are displayed relative to my major league. I do not allow starters in relief. Are there other settings you are interested in?

I'm running the stock "MLB 2017" quickstart.

I've actually had this happen to me on rare occasions when I do a scouting recalc, and it happened again with the new patch. I'm running a fictional league using random historical players, and when I re-import the players in question, they show up as starters again.

I did expand the league by 2 teams

I have gone past the off-season...everything is working fine...I will see if it comes up again after this season (after my team makes the playoffs for the 1st time!)

It probably effects every sort of league. I've found the error and it should be fixed in the upcoming hotfix.

Yeah, I asked that earlier but some testing lead me to the same conclusion ;)
