A new OOTP cheating option?
On the Baseball Think Factory blog, a discussion concerning the Astros' GM and manager being suspended/fired produced this gem of a comment:

But make sure players can get suspended too.

Only way I could see this being in the game is through the already present suspension system. Just have a small percentage of suspensions be for cheating scandals such as using an emory board or pine tar to alter the ball or a batter using a corked bat. Certainly more advanced cheating techniques could also show up in the explanation of why a player was suspended similar to the Apple watch or Houston's trash can banging examples without changing the game at its core.

hahahaha I'm still looking for the dirt on the Yankees.
I know it's there, though. hahaha |
I can see it now. You switched to commissioner mode to force a trade then get a message in your mail box "You have been suspended for one year for unfair business practices and in the best interest of baseball". Now OOTP won't even open for a year! LOL

If they added this to story lines as a random chance thing that would be fine.
Adding it where it actually affects stats? No. My best guess is with the MLB license it wouldn't be allowed anyway and, that's a good thing. All stats over history and in current play were\are all generated in a world where some cheating was going on. So in short the results of cheating are already in the game, at least for historical play. For fictional games or games that morph from real players to fictional there would be no way to measure the impact of cheating other than to guess. |
I wish these things would be in the game as well but once OOTP joined with MLB, they have to follow their rules. Hence why ped suspensions were removed.
|
Yeah I love how they removed PED suspensions but suspensions for actually assaulting someone are still in the game. Priorities...

Your manager has gotten caught stealing signs electronically. He and his GM are forced to resign. Hire a new GM and manager.
