1901-1979 Complete Historical Minors Jersey/Cap/Logos near completion. Help needed
 

1901-1979 COMPLETE HISTORICAL MINOR LEAGUE JERSEY/CAP/LOGO PROJECT. CLOSE TO COMPLETION BUT HELP NEEDED


For the past couple of months as I have ran through my most recent historical sim I have been making a file of logos, jerseys and caps for all of the minor league teams included in the game. My goal was to either find or, failing that, create a jersey-cap-logo for every minor league club through the 1979 season. I may tackle finishing off the final couple of decades later but for now the focus was on pre-1980.

There are close to 9000 team seasons during that time frame and I have collected graphics for about 90% of them so far. The plan is to complete it in time for OOTP19 and then find a site to share it with everyone, or idealy if someone creates an All-in-One historical pack it could be part of it.

There is a list of 890 team years that I do not yet have done. That is where I could use the help of anyone who would like to contribute as I wanted to have it done to coincide with OOTP19's release but am running out of time.. You don't have to be able to make fantastic logos, jerseys and ballcaps, they just have to be usable and look more less era appropriate. I will post some examples of ones I have done below and you will see they certainly pale in comparison to a lot of the great ones done by the really talented people here but they are usable.

Most of the 2600 or so different jerseys have come from this board. I did not create them myself but collected them from various posts on here. So credit for these really should go to TxRanger and all the other great graphic makers on this site. A lot of teams had nothing so those are the ones I created myself either by using the jersey maker or editing a jersey made by someone else.

I hope none of the original creators of these take exception to my edits and my plan to have this file shared for all of us to use. I can't imagine why they would complain but if one of these is yours and you want it removed just let me know.


HOW YOU CAN HELP
Just by helping me fill in the gaps by doing jerseys, caps and logos for any of the teams listed above. I am doing my best to be historically accurate by google searching each team I go through. However, it is very difficult to find any sort of images for a vast majority of the teams that remain and the ones I do find are always black and white photos so just make it so it looks decent for the era. For a lot of the affiliated teams with the same nickname as their major league affiliate I have been using the major league jersey from that era and just editing the ballcap. I am terrible at logos so most of the logos I created are just the first letter of the city in a color that matches my team jersey and cap. I do get lucky occassionally with the search as for example I just found a team photo of the 1952 Muskogee Giants which was high enough quality I could copy and paste the team jersey logo. They are posted below along with another example of one I did yesterday.

If you are able to do any please post the images here and I will save them and add to the master file. If you are not sure of naming format that is fine as I can rename it when you save it.

I also have a good start to 1980-2000 done as well but for now because of the file size I just want to collect pre-1980. Thank you to anyone who can help.

I will update this list and remove teams as they get done.

I just found a good image (and in color for a change!) of the Pampa Oilers so I am removing them from the list above.

Here is a look at the jersey, cap, logo I made for them as well as the entire 1946 West Texas-New Mexico League.

I used the jersey maker to create the jersey, edited a ballcap from ones in my collection and then found a graphic I could use as the logo when I searched Pampa Oilers baseball. None of it is anywhere near perfect but it is certainly usable for the 15 seasons the Pampa Oilers played in the WTNM and Southwestern Leagues. In addition I can knock off the 1957 team that split the season between Pampa and San Angelo where they were known as the Colts. I just made copies of my Pampa files and renamed them jerseys_Pampa_San_Angelo_Oilers_Colts.png and it is done.

As you can see from the WTNM League below I have only focused on home jerseys unless I could easily find a pre-made away one. Just figured it was more than enough work getting 1 jersey done for each team.

Removed Panama City from the list with the addition of the Pilots (1935),Papermakers (1936), Pelicans(1937-39) and Fliers (1951-61)

I used the exact same jersey and cap for the Pilots and Papermakers since they only lasted 1 season each. Completely fictional -with an assist of a cap from the New Orleans Pelicans- as I could find nothing on these teams at all in my google search

No WAY! I've been working on this exact project since before Christmas. I've completed every team up to 1938. I've made liberal use of the work of TXRanger and other modders and have made more than a few myself. I'll start going through what you need and fill in what gaps I can.

Do you want League Logos as well? There is no historical guidance on those since logos were not really a thing until the '40s but I've made several

Oswego Netherlanders. No effort made to conform to any history on this one. Could not find any pic:

I notice you are missing a lot of teams that shared the parent club's name. In those cases I just used the parent clubs logo & uniform. It's a cop out I know but there are just so... many... teams... you have to take shortcuts somewhere.

That's great. League logos would be fantastic as well. I have collected a bunch but have not got around to sorting them yet so any you might wish to add would be much appreciated.

Palatka set was not my work. I believe Cephasjames did that one

Finished up the other 3 Palatka teams from the Florida State League. As you mentioned above, easy to cheat by using the parent MLB team uniform for the same year and just make slight changes.
