New to OOTP - need help with drafts
 

Just purchased OOTP 15 and want to do a fictional league with a draft. How can I do a draft with real MLB players?

It's not totally straightforward, but it's simple to do. When you set up the game, create a standard MLB league. Then add your fictional league alongside the MLB in-game (Global Setup -> Available Global Actions -> Add a new league to this game). Make sure you un-check "Hold Inaugural Draft" during setup. You'll then have to put yourself in Commissioner Mode from the Manager's Office and delete all of the league's players (League Menu -> Player Info -> List all players, then use the little tag box on the far left to select them all, right click, and delete). You can then take yourself out of Commissioner Mode if you want.

Once your league's empty and ready to go, delete the MLB (League Setup -> League Functions -> Delete This League). That releases all the MLB players into the Free Agent pool. You can then hold a fantasy draft in your fictional league (League Setup -> Schedule Fantasy Draft).

This is a little clunky, but as far as I know it's the only way to have a fantasy draft of real players in a fictional league. If anyone has an easier way that I'm not aware of, feel free to enlighten both of us. :p
