Post issues with major league rosters set here!

Hey guys,

we want to constantly improve the major league roster set, so please post issues you run across here once the game is released.

Please do not post issues with players being on wrong roster / lineup / pitching staff spots, the AI sets these up and there is nothing we can do to force player X to be used in a certain predefined way.

Also, do not post stuff like "Pujols just hit .260 in my sim, this cannot be right." or "Why has Kershaw better ratings than Verlander?". Posts like these will be ignored! Major league player ratings are based on PECOTA projections, not opinion.

Please post here:
- Errors in contracts
- Issues with players being in the wrong organization
- Vastly wrong player ratings (disable scouting first so you see the real ratings), for example a Double-A scrub having allstar-calibre ratings

Thanks for helping! :)
Markus

This PECOTA thing I believe was a new feature this year, right? Great addition in any case.

Right. :)

Henry Rodriguez of the Nats has no Major League stats for 2009-12. They're given to a Henry Rodriguez(25 year old, catcher) who's retired in the game.

Fixed.

Not a probelm.

Sorry to be a huge pain in the butt, I've found another one. Josh Johnson has the wrong age and birthdate. In game he's down as 23 years old and his DOB is 6/1/1989, IRL he's 29 and DOB is 1/31/84.

Add:
Rob Carson

Chris V Carter, OF on Astros, is missing his 2012 statline for the ML level. I checked baseball-reference just to be certain.

Yeah they're given to 'Chris Carter' a 30 year old who played for the Red Sox in 2008 and 2009 and the Mets in 2010, although his stats for 2010 aren't in the game.

The game auto sets the 40 man rosters upon creation of a new game. So even though they're right in our db, they change when you create a game in OOTP.

So I'm afraid there's not much we can do about this, although we'll probably tweak some ratings, which might help.

Sorry, I know it's a little annoying that it works like that:)

Excellent catch. I didn't think of this myself.

Not a pain in the butt at all, this is the type of stuff we want people to post.

However, are you sure you're looking a the right Josh Johnson? The Blue Jays pitcher does have his correct dob, 1/31/1984.

EDIT: Dang, sorry, no he doesn't.

The dob is correct in our db but it's wrong in game for some reason. We'll look into this.

Yeah guys keep it coming. This is the kind of stuff we need. Keep a few things in mind. The AI is always going to make changes as it sees fit to the 40 man roster. We have it setup correctly in our online DB, but as with minor league and some major league assignments, the AI is simply going to change things.

There were some issues as you may see with player X being on the MLB roster over player Y and the only way to fix things were to severely overrate player Y and underrate player X.

Added his 2010 stats.

Doc_Brown 04-12-2013 11:52 AM

Orioles: Wilmer Aquino and Junior Taveras

Royals: Cristian Cano and Alfredo Patino

Cardinals: Jose L. Gomez

These are all lacking a country of origin.

Also being a touch morbid sorry about that, but Nick Adenhart RIP, is missing his 2009 start/stats.

Yes, sometimes the OOTP AI just makes smarter roster decisions than real-life GMs. *cough*Mariners*cough*

Diamondbacks:
Aaron Hill's extension is not included in the game.

Braves:
Juan Francisco is missing a year of service time, according to Cots 156 days in game, 1 year 156 days.
David Carpenter is missing some service time too, in game 110 days, Cots has him down as 1 year 32 days.

I'll look at more teams later on, if it's needed and is useful.

Thanks. All fixed.

Please do take a look if you get a chance. Everything you've given us so far is very useful and much appreciated:)
