What would you like to see added to OOTP 21

I think most of us agree OOTP is the best MLB sim out there, but I am noticing some people are disappointed in the new additions to OOTP XX. What I have not seen is any feedback from people indicating what they want to see in future editions of OOTP. With that said...go ahead and list everything YOU want to see in OOTP 21.

Their's a lot I would like to see that happens in real life.

That is a pretty broad scope of things. Are you referring to game management, or new animations such as charging the mound?

Once again I'm not seeing anyone mention anything they want added that isn't already in the game.

league team roster evaluation page-I have 250 plus team leagues and it would be nice too know which teams only have one catcher or one reserve infielder or relief pitchers who are all tired(happens all the time with doubleheaders).

Ability to schedule neutral site games(w/schedule editor). I am not interested in changing stadiums.

A third conference. Probably would take a lot of coding(or something)

Better custom playoff system-Have a blank page(per round) and let me fill in the blanks(larger leagues have playoff problems). It might be fixed on the next update according to Matt Arnold.

Ability to manually rainout games. I do a lot of changes with schedule editor and some teams have played too many games towards the end of the season and if I catch it in time then I could manually postpone it and then make correct changes. Too few games isn't a problem because they can be added at the end of the season.

I honestly really like the playoff concept you came up with! The freedom to pick and choose what teams you want in a playoff sim.

I would go with the system that's in place now but I have mentioned a few times that a 70 team playoff has problems(including even the first round when 58 teams are scheduled for a bye).

Prospects rated by position rather than just the top 100. I think this well within what's possible.

1. Much more realistic Spring Training with Grapefruit and Cactus leagues,
Split squad games, real Spring Training schedules, real Spring Training ballparks, etc.

2. Historical ballparks included.

3. Perfect Team which upward adjusts defensive ratings for historical players before 1940.

BronxBombers7 03-23-2019 08:24 PM

I honestly like those ideas from both of you. Position rankings and spring training split squads would be a neat addition. You can get historical ballparks through Steam workshop though.

Working feeders.

Able to see free agent coach's player preferences and relationships without 6 clicks per coach.

Ability to filter by any statistic, including FIP and injury proneness.

I honestly need to learn more about sabremetrics such as FIP and WAR, but I do agree with you. The ability to filter by every statistic would be efficient.

Additional pages in the history section that list the batting champions by year. The home run champions, etc.

sabrtoothtiger 03-23-2019 08:44 PM

a) trading international amateur money
b) actual draft pick signing bonus caps
c) competitive balance draft picks
d) BB% for pitchers, being able to search in filters
e) K% for pitchers, being able to search in filters
f) ISO being able to search in filters

Right now we have lists of award winners, but not year by year category leaders, so yeah I agree.

I agree with these but BB% and K% are the same stat as BB/9 and K/9 only it's expressed differently.

ATM I'm going to wait to see what they do in the coming months in terms of patches, but one thing I'd like is a slightly new interface just to change it up a little bit and get more of the new game feel.

But still not filterable.

True, and I agree it would be nice. As it is at best all you can do is export the stats and do the simple calculation in a spreadsheet.

Also, AI needs to heavily factor in injury rating when signing players. Especially to long term contracts.

Just like we humans do. A guy can't help you win when he's on the DL all the time. The AI should know that, too.
