Announcing the 1st release of the FHM2 Jersey Template

Hey guys,

Given permission from Jeff and Cole I am pleased to announce the first official public release of the FHM2 jersey template. This template is created in a .psd format and is packed with features to create your own jerseys at ease, wether it be fictional or re-creating your favorite team from scratch.

This jersey template has been collaborated on by myself, Pwal, and Isedelyod. Fyrestorm3 has created the helmet templates which I will let him post if he so chooses. (Updated 9-30-15, added my own modified template created off Fyrestorm's.)

Here is a current list of features included within this template:

  • Over 30+ different layers of classic & modern striping
  • Striping broke into 3 groups - arms, body, and shoulders
  • 4 unique Reebok Edge style collar featuring NHL & KHL shields options
  • 3 different styles of collar lacing
  • 15+ different stitching patterns
  • Easy navigation to assemble your perfect jersey
  • League specific branding logos ranging across multiple leagues

Here is whats coming in future releases:

  • More striping combinations
  • Retro style collars and other league specific collar styles
  • Retro stitching patterns
  • Template enhancement
  • User requested options - Have a request, please suggest it!

Enjoy guys!

Wow, ask and ye shall receive! Thanks a ton guys! I'm getting right to work. Cole may have to create a Mods forum before long so we can all share.

I didnt know today was christmas??

Perhaps this should kick off a mods section for fhm2?

Pwal 09-22-2015 10:09 AM

Enjoy guys! Now let's see some nice jerseys!

So, out of curiousity, once I'm done with a jersey, what file type do I save it as for the game? PNG?

Pwal 09-22-2015 10:39 AM

Yep, PNG.

And if I may add, work is being done on the following leagues at the moment: NHL, AHL, ECHL, QMJHL, WHL, KHL, Liiga.

Anything for GIMP users? Not all of us have the extra arm and leg to pay for Photoshop, ya know.

Nice work!! Do you gonna release jerseys and so on to Swedish Hockey League and Swedish Allsvenskan in a near future? :) It would be very nice and welcomed!

The file doesn't come in so clean on this site in particular but maybe search for sites like this:

Photoshop online free photo editor

What file type does GIMP use? I orginally created this template in Illustrator, so I would think between Photoshop and Illustrator I can save one of the two template types into something that GIMP can use!

I was able to load the template using Paint.Net and the PSD plugin from https://psdplugin.codeplex.com/
After it loads up I have no idea what to do with it, but I'm trying! :@@:
Is it even possible to edit the template with these programs I've mentioned?

I'm trying that now. It's a slow process but i seem to be getting somewhere. After about 20 mins i figured out how to change the jersey color along other things.

Thanks! Just .pngs, mostly. Each layer should be separate to make it easier. That's how I do it, anyway...there may be another way, but I haven't heard about it. Base layer, texture layer, collar/stripe layers, etc. All layers same size, so one can go right over the last one. I'm ready to start on some minor league historicals if I can get some good templates!

I have everything organized into layers but I would have to save every single thing as its own document right? I can't just save the entire thing or it'll become 1 layer....

Suggestion for everyone. Try out Inkscape... It's free and you can use my illustrator template. Should work wonders for you guys if you have some design knowledge

And for Mac OS X users, here is an Affinity Photo version for those who don't own Adobe Photoshop.

This template was created on Mac; were you having issues?

Hockey13Playa 09-22-2015 06:44 PM

Also the original template i created was made in illustrator first if anyone decides to get Inkscape or has illustrator that prefers that I can post a link

ThatSeventiesGuy 09-22-2015 07:42 PM

Can't load 64-bit Inkscape on my computer, and the other version won't convert the file. My laptop is ANCIENT. :(

Can somebody PLEASE GIMP-erize these for me?

I don't think Inkscape uses .psd. I need to either send you my illustrator .ai file or I think a .svg works with Inkscape. It's my long night, I'll be home in a few hours and I'll post or PM you download links to both!
