2020 logo/jersey changes for MiLB, MILB, and other
Might as well get this started as we should expect changes to happen within MLB/MiLB along with the OOTP world for 2020.
|
Were logos, caps, jersey's for this year ever made? Im looking for all the leagues outside of MLB/MILB.

River City moved to the Prospect league, college summer league. No word yet if they'll still be the Rascals

If I had to make an educated guess the new Wichita AAA team is going to be called the Prairie Schooners.

Im working on a preliminary set of 2020 MLB uniforms with Nike patches and the #20 on the front of uniforms when applicable. These right now are just what I hope/expect them to look like and Ill make adjustments once uniforms start being unveiled.
Currently have the Brewers, Cardinals, Pirates, and the NL West left. |
The former Potomac Nationals are keeping their nickname when they move to Fredericksburg...say hello to the "FredNats"!

The Can-Am and Frontier Leagues are merging.
The Florida Fire Frogs (Florida League) will be moving, no idea if they'll rebrand. Connecticut Tigers (NY-Penn League) will be rebranding. Florence Freedom (Frontier) will be rebranding. |

I would choose Salty Dogs... that makes me think of a bunch of rough and rowdy sailors and a crusty old captain all rolled up into one.
Golden Roses is alright... especially if it is really well known for roses. Don't care for the others... the names are strange to me and not very interesting. |
The former Kannapolis Intimidators (A South Atlantic League) are now known as the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers.

Cool name and logo, but the proposed jerseys are somewhat basic. Maybe they'll have an Evel Knievel theme night.
Added my own design as a Sunday jersey. |

Caps are available on their team store. However, the red and blue color shades are different than the recently released logos. I integrated the new logo colors with the team store designs.

Not good imo but i guess this is what we're going with...

IIRC, the Brewers and Padres have been leaked since they announced the 2020 schedules. The Padres are going back to the Friar swinging the bat and making brown the primary color.
|
There's no reason to even touch the old Brewers ball & glove. Just bring it back full-time and leave it alone, forever.

It's technically not a glove. It's a "M" and "b". |

I don't know why everyone's so upset...I'm just ELATED to see the BiG FINALLY back as the primary again.

I was being totally sarcastic. And yes, I know it's an M & B, and always have. That's why it's so great. |

I've seen a lot of folks hating on the new Brewers logo but I like it. I think if they were going to update the classic BiG logo this was the way to do it. I'll be more curious to see the new unis and hats.

Especially those Gray unis… lack of contrast on the colors is the big problem for me. Hope these are better. |
Help me... what is a Sod Poodle and a Paddle Back?
These are strange nicknames. But they are nice logos. |

I could handle something like Sodbusters... but not Sod Poodles. My area had to endure the stupid Baby Cakes in New Orleans... sadly they lost their team to Wichita... maybe someone will move to New Orleans and pick a sensible nickname like Buccaneers, Dixielanders, Cottonmouths, Moccasins, Gators or Bayou Bombers... they do have a nice stadium... somebody might come, but I'm not sure it's a baseball town... attendance for the Baby Cakes was dwindling fast. |

Yes, the Baby Cakes made money off the name... but the people of New Orleans hated it... they wanted something that connected to the city and its heritage... Baby Cakes was a contrived name that tried to tie in with the New Orleans King Cake tradition... it was a very poor and forced attempt. I really hope if the Southern League comes to New Orleans, they will choose a name that ties in with the city's history and heritage. Something like New Orleans Bayou Blues... connecting the city's jazz heritage and the swamp land and swamp life... or New Orleans Buccaneers that is associated with Jean Lafitte and Dominique You, two smugglers, who helped Andrew Jackson beat the British in the Battle of New Orleans in 1814. Incidentally, "bayou" is pronounced "by- you".... not "by-yo" as in the great Hank Williams' song "Jambalaya"... Roy Orbison and Linda Ronstadt got it right in their hit versions of the song in the 60s and 70s. (Orbison) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ex2MsgpPafo (Ronstadt) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHwGqV6YOwo and yes, I know about the American Basketball Association team, the New Orleans Buccaneers in the late 60s... know the Bucs very well... I married one of their cheerleaders... I really loved the Buccaneers with Doug Moe, Jimmy Jones, Larry Brown, Steve Jones, Jackie Moreland and Red Robbins, coached by Babe McCarthy. Link to New Orleans Buccaneers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Orleans_Buccaneers The ABA used a red, white and blue ball... see the logo. And for all you little darlin's and buckaroos, here's Johnny Horton singing his #1 song from 1959: "The Battle of New Orleans". https://www.bing.com/search?q=battle...&setlang=en-US |
