Hitting Prospects vs Pitching Prospects Question

I'm relatively new to OOTP15 and have thus far found that when draft pools are released there tends to be a far greater number of hitting prospects with high potential ratings, than pitching prospects. Is this simply a coincidence for the season that I'm in, or does this reflect the difficult nature of finding blue chip pitching prospects?

This leads me to a second question -- if the top pitching prospects in the pool project to be "minor leaguers at best" by my scout, should I then draft them in the later rounds and just focus on the high ceiling hitters early?

Or do pitching prospects perhaps develop differently?

Any feedback much appreciated.

Just the season your in. Some drafts will have loads of top hitting prospects, some will have loads of top pitching prospects, every year is different.

All I can say is that pitchers are much more prone to not living up to their potential.

I will usually go with best available. You never know how these guys are going to turn out. The hard part is knowing what the best available is between hitters and pitchers in your league. That really just depends on the league
