downloads but wont activate, windows 7
 

I get an error that ootp20.exe has stopped running as soon as I enter license number. Occurs on both laptop and desktop running windows 7, turned off windows security tools and malwarebytes...and run as administrator. Rebooted, shutdown, many times...please help

Typically this will happen because something is interfering with the licensing process, so turning off Windows security etc. is the right reflex.

A couple other things to check: Turn off or whitelist OOTP in your firewall. Shut down other programs running in the background, even non-security ones.

If it still is a problem, then probably best to fill out a support ticket so we can work through this with you one on one and figure it out!

I just tried again, removed everything, turned off everything...when I've uninstalled it there was a box that opened that said it was installed incorrectly and would i like it reinstalled correctly, to which I replied yes....but then nothing happened...this happened the exact same way on both pc's. I've asked for a refund so I can just purchase through steam, which is how I've done all the older versions and had no problems.

I am having the very same problem. You have described my issue to a t. And ive done everything i could to remedy. I was going to wait until another release but i dont want to miss out on the little things i might get for pre paying.

I dont even get a chance to enter the license number. And i have windows 7.

I'm in the same boat, I mean, I pre-ordered, now just frustrated...looks like I'll be playing 19 for a while...Hell I love the game so much I'm ready to get a windows 10 pc...but I hate windows 10:crying:

Another thing to recommend to you guys would be to make sure all your Windows 7 updates are installed as well as any Visual C++ packages that apply to Windows 7.
