MLB 2019 thread
Any predictions?

Opening day of the MLB season...the birds are chirping, the (hot) dogs are roasting, the popcorn is popping...
And the Cubs play the Rangers.... Frak me....I don't know who to pick. |

It's time for MLB to mandate the Dodgers do something about their security. Every year it seems like Dodger stadium has a fan killed or put into a coma. It is an absolute shame the league has been so apathetic to how dangerous that place is. It's not just that there is so much violence. But there is so much violence and they have no clue who did it. It's like there are no cameras w/video on the incident. People can kill someone and then get out of the ballpark scot free. Enough is enough.

This Cubs bullpen is going to be the death of me. Why didn’t the Cubs add any quality arms in the offseason??

What a great start to the season.

Pulled from no-hitter
Pitch count? Really?
Basically Hyde ripped out this kid's heart by denying him his, perhaps, one shot at greatness. https://deadspin.com/this-is-the-fac...nth-1833742595 |

You want that ball? Take it like A MAN! (hides ball in glove and runs off towards centerfield, kicking dirt in the manager's direction occcasionally)
This is dumb. The Orioles are dumb. Pitch counts are dumb. |

Royals bullpen to Cubs: "hold my beer" |
The Mets meanwhile have a very good bullpen, but an idiot manager trying to fumble each and every game. It *is* hard to watch, despite them being 4-1.

I am saying if the Dodgers weren't so cheap as to skimp on security, including personnel, technology & equipment, they could prevent more. |

So how many deaths & comas are in the other parks? I haven't heard of anyone dying after visiting 1st Citizens & Philly crowds are suppossed to be the roughest in America. |
Teams, perhaps understandably, tend to not make announcements about these things if they can prevent it. Wasn't there are lady struck by a foul ball and killed at Dodger Stadium last year? It took months for the news of that story to seep through the cracks.
Unrelated, I watched the Mariners-White Sox tilt from the day game menu (it was the single item) and that was some of the worst baseball you can imagine. Tim Beckham made three errors in one inning, for crying out loud. Not one pitcher that could find the zone. Some ugly flails and misses. Primarily Jay Bruce, whom I despise. Dan Vogelbach thrown out going second to third on a grounder to the second baseman. Both those teams will suffer the next six months. |
