SPRING TRAINING BEGINS! And... wow. David Price pitched five shut out innings but the big news came in the 9th when Robinson Cano, Stryker Trahan, D.J. Davis, and Max Muncy hit FOUR CONSECUTIVE HOME RUNS! They led the Jays to a 9-4 win over the Tigers. Devon Travis also homered for Toronto. The biggest questions this Spring surround the bullpen... and there was some sloppy pitching today from the 'pen. Defense also was subpar, as the Jays made three errors. WP - David Price (1-0) LP - Martin Perez (0-1) Spring Record - 1-0 |

After having a rough outing last time, Jake Thompson bounced back, allowing only one hit in five innings against the White Sox. The big story was D.J. Davis, however, who went 3 for 3 with a triple shy of the cycle, a walk, and a pair of RBI. The Jays beat the White Sox 12-2. Mitch Haniger also homered. WP - Jake Thompson (1-1) LP - Tyson Ross (0-2) Spring Record - 7-2 |
We got good news about Jake Barrett. His injury is not serious. He will take a couple of days off to recuperate and be right back at it.
