Really need to not allow posts in the parent forum.

The ability to post in this parent forum opens up mods to the work of moving posts to the correct league type subforum.

Move all of these appropriately and lock this parent from accepting forums and you'll get commish posts in the correct league type forum.

As designed, it is not working. Actually, adding confusion and slowing the process down. Please address. It will be appreciated. ;)

All that has to be done is this part being locked so that it doesn't accept posts.

I sent a formal request in for the moderator to take a look at our thread. Maybe they will agree with us. ; - )

I think you should be able to post in both...My biggest reason is that someone can come across your league in the parent forum and it could be a fictional league but maybe they never saw themselves interested in a fictional league but now they are. If you only post in the type of league that individual won't just stumble upon your league because they won't look in there. Plus it's not causing any harm

That lends the categories useless.

Well I just say this because I had a guy join one of my leagues who wouldn't have done a fictional league but stumbled upon my post and joined and loves it soooooooooo I'd rather have either cross posting or just do what we've done for the last 14 years

Hey guys!

We thought about what you're saying, and while the folks suggesting locking the main thread make some good points, we think it's probably best for now to keep that open for general posts that don't neatly fall into any category.

So we'll stick with things as they are for now, but will keep an eye on things in the future, and can always make some changes if it looks like it's needed.

stevem810 05-12-2019 09:43 AM

First off, thank you for responding to the request. It's appreciated.

The decision to not lend more clarity to the existing structure is disappointing as I think the benefits far outweigh any downsides.

I'll go through the forum now and then and move posts and threads to their proper location.

EDIT: Completed 5/23/19

It's getting out of control again! :-)

stevem810 06-17-2019 05:28 PM

Agree. I do not understand the hesitation to set this up so it works more efficiently. There was one post that thought it 'not a good idea' and a whole lot more asking for it to be designed with 3 separate threads. As it is now, I end having to go to at least two threads to view what I want to see. Please, reconsider. : -)

Cooleyvol 06-17-2019 07:38 PM

Agreed. Either categorize or don't. Doing both is a cluster.

Winnipeg59 07-04-2019 05:22 PM

Any way to just MERGE the three individual forums (listed above) into this main forum for 20 ONLINE.

It seems to be trending toward just having it all here anyway??

Get some kinda standard

I got a headache

I feel the same way, I didn't even realize there were sub categories until recently. I posted my new league in the proper sub category. I thought to myself hmm should I repost the same new league in the parent folder too? I didn't but, also thought maybe i was missing out on people like me that didnt even notice the sub category. Should be fixed imho.

EKomrska15 07-16-2019 06:13 PM

Hmmm, recruiting without sub-forums filled needs in 2 leagues..recruiting with posting in the sub-forum can't fill either league opening....Tells me exactly what I thought.

Johnny93g 07-16-2019 06:17 PM

This system is stupid. I couldn't fill a spot until i posted in this forum, the wrong forum. Ever heard of the term if it ain't broke....

stevem810 07-16-2019 10:18 PM

It's not a question of which system of organization is the more effective. Either will work by itself.

The issue is you can't run both at the same time.
