Prospect vs. Blue Chip Prospect

I'm curious if there is currently any reason to EVER offer a prospect a contract as a 'blue chip' rather than just regular prospect. As it is, with any prospect no matter how high he was drafted I can go with his requested contract but set his secondary to 'prospect' and they'll accept it all the same. If it's the same as in FHM3, I can change an existing prospect from blue chip to regular prospect before sending him to the AHL and he won't get angry like he would if 'blue chip' was set.

That said, I think players who SHOULD ask for 'blue chip' should be very limited to begin with. I think many (but not all to put a wrinkle in things) Canadian players, even highly drafted, should be ok with playing a season or two in the AHL before moving to the NHL without complaining too much while in the minor leagues.

European/Russian players and College players you haul out of college early, however, should be more likely to insist on 'blue chip' as a sort of 'promise' of an NHL position for leaving College/their home country. And of course some should be more willing to go through the AHL seasoning route and be more accepting of non-blue chip status.

As it stands now, all I see 'blue chip' as is an "instant angry" option for minors that is completely optional the way things stand now, and hope for it to be used to more interesting effect in the future.
