Real team names?
 

Is there a way to use the real team names ie Dodgers, Yankees rather than random computer generated team names? I am playing OOTP13 in mac.

On the main screen, if you choose "New Major League Game" you will start with the 2012 MLB rosters with full minor leagues. All team names will be correct.

I'm guessing you chose "New Custom Game" and then selected the MLB template (whatever it's called). That gives you random names.

no, unfortunately I think this may be the fault of the mac app store. i did try to start the game as you said, but i think it may be apple's policy to not allow real team names. totally feel ripped off. i wonder if i can get a refund, and repurchase the game in a way where the team names reload correctly.

I'm with Mac also and you can manually change all the team names to suit your needs.

League Menu --> Advanced --> League Structure --> League Setup --> Functions --> Names and Affiliations

One point of note, during initial set-up (in advance of the first time you play) you should be given a choice of selecting 'real players.'

That's interesting. I'm playing on a Mac, but purchased the game through the OOTP site and it has the correct team names. Not sure why it would be any different through the app store.

Perhaps there's a way for someone to upload the correct MLB quickstart that you can download and add to your game.

You're correct. It's different in the Mac Store cause Apple won't allow using real team names, but I know how to fix it...it's simple just PM me.

One more caution, don't use the ootp mac patches here as they won't work with the Mac Store version. You''ll need to get your patches from the Mac Store only.

Could you perhaps pm me the answer too if thats possible as i have exactly the same problem

Having the same problem...i'm new to mac so didn't think twice at downloading from the app store. I tried the allinone add on and it didn't work. Playing as the Toronto Hogs for now! If anyone could help me out i'd be super appreciative.
