One thing is that I couldn't find any examples for the colors on Van Atta's arm patches I'm pretty unfamiliar with uniform colors prior to the 1950's. Actually, I try to refer to some of the great work some of the other guys on this site who colorize old photos have done. The Hall of Fame baseball uniform database falls a bit short when it comes to nuances.
Torgeson's patch is at a funny angle, but I think I found an example that sort of matches. If it's off, I doubt if it's off by much
