Historical Expansion?

If you start a game in say 1980, will the NHL expand automatically at the appropriate times or can you delay/alter that instead?

The game expands as it happened in real life. No option to disable it.

I don’t believe this to be the case. The options at start up are for player options and not team related options. Users choose between players entering the league at the same time their real life counterpart entered - and on the same team. Or they can choose for players to be entered into the game world at age 17-18 as draft eligibles.

Edit: Now it may be possible to stop expansion from happening in the game options itself. That I’m not sure of. But I don’t believe it’s an option at game setup.

I will say this though, there’s a pretty damn cool addition to historical that I’m not sure we’re allowed to talk about yet. :)
