The World Baseball Association just began its 8th season and will likely be upgrading to OOTP 18 for the 9th season in late April.

Sim Schedule: Regular season will be 4 days per week, initially scheduled for S-M-W-F nights.
League Time Per Sim: 7 Days
First Season: 2100
Special Rules & Settings: Custom financials (see Rules link). Coaching and scouting disabled (so 100% scouting accuracy). Association setup with two separate and distinct leagues with champions meeting in a best-of-nine association championship series each year. League-specific draft pools but trading and free agency between leagues enabled. New owners may move teams but must keep them within the divisional geography. 1995 statistical settings were used for league creation; more/less offense and more/less pitching league evolution settings were left ON (all other evolution is off). OOTP OU will be available and used for league functions where possible.

All of that and more explained in the rules link above. There are several custom tools pages that I coded to make participation easier. These include financial snapshots, a backup team export file upload tool, a page that checks for any contracts outside of league rules, position check for players being assigned incorrect positions, and a DFA status page that allows owners to check to see if they need to take care of any DFA issues without having to get into the game. Yeah, I have some questions. When is the next season starting? Do we get to choose which available team we get, or do we get assigned a team? Is there some kind of NFL-style draft of college and/or high school players before each season, so that the weaker teams get first crack at the new talent coming into the league? If we take over a team, can we change its name/logo/colors/uniforms?

We're on hold now to give us a chance to attract new owners, so the next season's start date hasn't been finalized.

You get to choose whichever available team you'd like.

Yes, each league has an annual amateur draft in reverse order of the previous season's record.

Yes, you can change everything about the team but it needs to stay in the same geographic division. (North American, Latin American, Afro-European, and Asian Divisions)

Buenos Aires taken. There is a possibility that Sao Paulo and Tokyo may come open in the near future.

List in first post updated. Based on lack of activity and response from current owners I have opened up the Sao Paulo and Tokyo franchises. Tokyo may be appealing to some of you as they have the top-rated minor league system in the IBL. I can't get in contact with their owner who was an original WBA owner and took his team over with the express intent of building it up over the first several seasons of the league.

5th regular season gets underway tonight, so a bump for that occasion. Available teams are still Karachi, Lagos, Sao Paulo, and Tokyo.
