Joe Wyatt 1924

A few days ago, baseball-birthdays posted a note saying that the photo posted in 2014 (Jan. 6 to be exact) was not Joe Wyatt, as reported by Joe's daughter. Instead, that photo was Glenn Myatt. I've had some correspondence on that topic with UKBaseballFan, who provided background.
I know of at least two valid photos of Joe Wyatt. One is at baseball-reference.com. The link is shown below. The same photo was discovered by Marc Okkonen, as he prepared his book, 2000 CUPS OF COFFEE. The photo is from a Terre Haute minor league team photo. https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=wyatt-001lor The other valid Joe Wyatt photo appears with his biography on the SABR BioProject website. It is attached below. |

Alan Knicely - Cardinal request
Hey all, I am looking for a color image of Alan Knicely while suited up for the Cardinals. I located the previously posted pics of him in B&W on this great site and thought I would inquire. Thanks in advance!

My question is (and I apologize if this was previously resolved here somewhere) which photo is the original - the one with or without the NY? Someone some time ago apparently added the NY or removed it, and either way did a very convincing job. Thanks! |

The image from the Carl Horner team composite is the accurate one. In other words, the "NY" was there but subsequently removed.

UKbaseballfan points out that this player formerly thought to be Joe Wyatt is actually Cleveland catcher Glenn Myatt. |
