1979 Jays
Does anyone have anything of these Jays from 1979?
Steve Luebber Tony Solaita Dyar Miller (other than the small, team-issue head shot previously posted?) Merkle - I see that you previously posted images of Pedro Hernandez and Steve Grilli - would it be possible to see these re-posted? Understand either way. |

Luis DeLeon 1981
2 Attachment(s)
What an interesting find on the TV listings on Ebay today....Luis DeLeon with the Mariners where he pitched one game for them in 1989. It was the last game of his career as he started on May 26th at Milwaukee allowing 1 R in 4 IP with 2 K, 1 BB, and 5 H. The one run was a HR to Robin Yount in the first inning. It was the only start of DeLeon's career as he threw 206 other games all in relief.
DeLeon began his MLB career in 1981 with St. Louis but is mostly remembered for being a Padres RP from 1982-1985. He was a combined 15-11 for the 1982-1983 Padres saving 28 games while pitching in 124 games with an E.R.A of 2.37. He later pitched in 11 games for the 1987 Orioles, all in relief. |
Johnny Kucks Mets phantom
1 Attachment(s)
Trying to confirm what this seems to be -- a "phantom" photo of former Yankees pitcher Johnny Kucks during a failed spring trial with the Mets in 1963. His MLB career was already over, and he'd spent 1962 with the Cardinals' farm club in Atlanta. Failing to make the Mets, he was returned to the Cardinals, and Atlanta for the '63 season -- his last. Thanks.
