My first crack at Baseballl Cards (1986 Topps Theme)
So I've tried to figure out Baseball car templates today and I always had an affinity for the 1986 Topps set as it was the only set I completely collected solely by buying packs.
This was created more in the spirit of that set as some things seem to be impossible to replicate using the elements and tools available. Check it out http://home.comcast.net/~silvam14/te...86%20topps.zip http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j1...ia_2011_dd.png http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j1...hia_2011_d.png http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j1...chia_2011_.png |
Hey nice 1st attempt!
|
Nice job!
|
They look pretty good to me. My only issue is that I don't like the zoomed in faces. I can't remember if that can be prevented. Other than that they look good.

silvam14, great job on the cards! ;)

I was just looking at the '86 cards yesterday and thinking that it was a version that had yet to be done and could fit within the limitations of the OOTP xml.
Nice work! |
Thanks for the positive words. If anyone has any suggestions on any improvements I could make, please make them because I'm kind I stuck
|
I don't think there's much that needs fixing. imo, the player's name should be centered vertically on the HoF and AS cards and the third year down (2009 on that card) looks like its indented two spaces farther than the other years and the foruth year down (2010) is indented one space farther in.
The graphics look good. '86 is a plain and simple card you you made it look good. I particularly like the regular one. |

Is there some way to increase the font height more? Do the height and width need to be proportional |
Played with the font size a bit and it looks like you're right about 36 being the max, I tried both college and vera and didn't get anything bigger. I thought I had used a larger one before but looking back I see 30 was the largest I used.
