Help Me Rename My Nashville Club
They are currently the Volunteers but because of Tennessee I want to change their name soon to something else. Some cool ideas on this page:

NASHVILLE CATS... from the old song of the '60s by the Lovin' Spoonful.
The cats are the "country guitar pickers", who are the great studio musicians in Music City USA. I think I saw a great logo for the Nashville Cats with a cat playing a guitar. Your can hear the song here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNg7sAsgBSQ Here are the lyrics: "Nashville Cats" [Chorus:] Nashville cats Play clean as country water Nashville cats Play wild as mountain dew Nashville cats Been playin' since they's babies Nashville cats Get work before they're two Well, there's thirteen hundred and fifty-two guitar pickers in Nashville And they can pick more notes than the number of ants on a Tennessee ant hill There's thirteen hundred and fifty-two guitar cases in Nashville And anyone that unpacks his guitar can play twice as better than I will [Chorus] I was just 13 you might say I was a musical proverbial knee-high When I heard a couple new sounding tunes on the tube and they blasted me sky high Then the record man said everyone is a yellow sun record in Nashville And up North there ain't nobody buy 'em and I said, but I will [Chorus] Well there's sixteen thousand eight hundred twenty-one mothers from Nashville All their friends play music and they ain't uptight if one of the kids will Because it's custom made for any mother's son to be a guitar picker in Nashville And I sure am glad I got a chance to say a word about the music and the mothers from Nashville [Chorus] |
NASHVILLE VOLS, short for VOLUNTEERS... the name they used for about 60 years when they played in the great Southern Association.
They played at Sulphur Dell, a "home-run haven", which had a right field wall only 262 feet from home plate... the outfield inclined just beyond the infield... the outfield wall was 16-foot high topped with a 22-foot screen. Teams regularly had 15-10 slugfests at Sulphur Dell... a high pop fly to right would be a cheap home run. I used to listen Mobile Bears radio broadcasts as a kid in the 50s and remember many Sunday doubleheaders when the scores would 10-9 in the seven-innng opener and 13-10 in game two, a regular nine-inning game... no lead was safe at Sulphur Dell, nicknamed "the Dump"... the area had been a garbage dump in the early years of Nashville. Sulphur Dell was best known for having one of the most significant "terraces" or sloping outfields in baseball history: a steep incline that ran along the entire outfield wall, most dramatically in right and center fields. You can see what the ballpark looked like here at this link: File:Sulphur Dell.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Look closely at the sloping outfield just beyond the infield. You can see the grass gets greener on the incline. |

I have a team in my main fictional called the Nashville Mustangs. I think it sounds pretty good and that's enough for me.

Chuck i might have that in Phoenix with the Coyotes if i don't use the Rays jerseys i just found a few days ago. I will have the San Jose Sharks at some point also. Anyone want to make me some jerseys of either Vols 1920-1935 and again 1950 -1997 just need 1 home and 1 road per decade. Or do the Cats. Cats would stay in Nashville after 1998. Vols would move to San Antonio. |

Circular one is mine, the other is by Justafan. |
How about the NASHVILLE HITS... as in baseball and on the hit parade music charts.
The logo could be designed around a circular 45 RPM record crossed with two bats. |
