Complete Chart References for Roles and Tactical Settings

5 Attachment(s)
These are reference charts that I have created for FHM. I put in effort to ensure that these charts would print well (as possible) on 8.5 x 11 paper.

Note that I have removed the Mental Ratings column from the Offensive and Defensive Roles Chart in order for them to scale properly when printed. The four roles that have anything in the Mental section were Grinder, Agitator, Goon, and Enforcer. The KEY skill for those roles are notated on the left. Goon and Enforcer also have Aggression, Bravery, and Determination as important skills.

When printing, just hit print in Google Sheets and set it to Landscape and the Fit to Page Scale. I tested each one out and they are splendid.

I also added some other charts for new fans of NHL who might find useful, like top NHL players (compiled from The Hockey Guy Youtube Channel) going into the 19/20 season and the AHL/ECHL structure.

I also plan to add a Form Template to fill out your Lines and Tactics, for those players who would like to have their Lines and Tactics on paper or in chart form outside of the game for tracking.

Also, feel free to do whatever you like with these charts, FHM development team.

-UPDATES-

It wouldn't let me upload the Short-Handed chart but it is there in the Google Link.

Nice, last year i had to print off the manual pages so I could have that information at my fingertips when making settings - this is much nicer.

I reckon all of these charts will come in very handy when they include 2D matches in FHM.

Updated the charts in the Google link above to include the special effects given to Shadow, Agitator, Goon, Enforcer, and Crease-Clearing defenseman. These special effects are listed in the manual.

Updated the Google Sheet above by creating a tab to include a bunch of reference links for those who are new to NHL or hockey in general. I plan to add a section for other leagues like the Kontinental League or the EIHL as well.

The section on advanced tactics has a collection of some of the tactics used in Franchise Hockey Manager. I'm not sure how much detail FHM goes into, but the videos are there if you are interested in learning about real-life hockey tactics and coaching.

Added more links to the Link References tab. If you wanted to learn or know more about NHL contracts, NHL Drafts, Player right's, etc., I found these articles very helpful as it's written in layman terms.

In the 3 highlighted links as shown, some of the topics include:

-When are players eligible to be drafted by the NHL

-Length of time a team keeps the rights for drafted players (Canadian junior/US college/European Players)

-When players can sign NHL entry-level contracts

-Where players can play once drafted and (if applicable) signed

-How the entry-level contract works and the entry-level slide

-Restricted vs unrestricted free agents

-Offer sheets for restricted free agents

-Qualifying offers for restricted free agents

-Arbitration

-The contract process and schedule for restricted free agents

I can't thank you enough for this reference guide. I had no idea there was such a thing as special effects for roles. It's changed the way I play the game.

Thank you. From a southern guy that has only been a casual fan but really wanting to get involved in the game and learn more, this is extremely helpful

Great work but still tactics remain a chore.
