He hit 21 in the real life.
Ned Williamson hit 27 in real life and then hit 3 or 4 the next season.
I think it was the ballpark.
I believe the right field fence was less than 200 feet.
Three other players hit at least 20 homers on that chicago team.
So i guess it wasn't steroids but i think ootp duplicated it quite good.

Ah, that makes sense. Gotta love the goofy park dimensions, particularly in ye olde tyme base-ball. Ned Williamson was always a beast in my leagues. How did Jack Glasscock do in your game? He is criminally underrated IRL, and should've been in the Hall long ago.

He did ok but not spectacular. He won the MVP in 1885.

My Cap Anson did not hit over 14 HR.

Yeah, the White Stockings decided that any ball hit over the wall in Lakefront Park would count as a home run that year. Previously, balls hit over the short right-field and left-field fences counted as doubles only. The result was the grotesquely inflated HR totals for the home team.

In a bit of irony, the site of Lakefront Park - the corner of Michigan Ave and Randolph St in downtown Chicago - is now the location of Wrigley Square, part of Millennium Park.

Did you have fielding awards, because he should've won a bushel full at shortstop. Add that to the 112 OPS+, and you have an extremely valuable SS.

He also looks like he had a spectacular nine year run from 1882-1890. If you have an All-Star game, he would arguably have been deserving in every one of those nine seasons. Just sayin'. He may have been more valuable than you think. ;)

I am trying to download the files you from your drop box that you mention, but I don't see any .csv files only .dat files.

Thanks, got the files.

The game will not let me import the 1871 schedule ap because the number of games per team is 30. This does not match the number in my league settings which is 32. How would I change that?

Change the number of games per team under schedule settings to match.
Also uncheck inter league play if it is enabled.

That worked! Thanks a million!!! I adjusted it to 30 games per team in the 9 team league. Couple of questions. In the inaugural draft. Do I import your draft result csv.file? After downloading the jerseys, faces, ballcaps, ballparks, and coaches from the mlb.lg file, do you they go in their respective folders and do I replace them? For example, jerseys goes under jerseys and replace the vanilla jerseys etc?

linguas.amo 02-17-2019 09:43 PM

And finally, I presume the face packs go back to 1871?

I think i have a1871 league start on the drop box with all the players set up on the correct teams for 1871. If you start from scratch you can refer to the csv for which teams the players should go. after 1871 i use it for trades and manager changes.

As for ballcaps, ballparks, and coaches. I dont use coaches just managers and i have to create them as they debut on the csv file.
Ballparks should import according to the teams csv file. Ballpark pictures, 3d models, jerseys, logos are up to you. The logos may work but the main thing is the teams and transaction files. The rest is really to your own taste. All the other stuff like logos, photos etci downloaded from others anyway.

I would advise backing up each season. I do it during preseason, end of regular season and on dec 31st. I will try to update the guide when i complete my current sim.

Into which folder would I download the 1871 league starter? When I downloaded it though the folder was called an auto-save that I had to extract.

try copying the mlb.lg folder into your saves folder.
