How best to avoid the steroid era
So I have a fictional league that I started from 1889. I am at year 1983 right now and would want to avoid the steroid era where batters hit 65-70 home runs. What is the best way to make sure that these inflated home run rates wont occur? :D

I started my EBL league in 2003 with 1973 modifiers. I am now in 2027/1997.If you dont manually select the historical modifiers then i would say you have nothing to worry about. If you do just skip 1994-2002 time frame. all of those players are manually edited and although 2 were not supposed to play as many games as they played the rest hit more HR then they did in previous games for the season. Quinn also plays in Coors which helps inflate his HR totals. |
Actually, given this news, I am not so leery of the Steroid Era in my game anymore. I can look at it as a statistical aberration (which, of course, it certainly was not at the time) in conjunction with this recent trend.
