iOOTP Logos and Team Names - And Video instructions

2 Attachment(s)
I created an updated teams.dat file for the 2012 season with the correct team names and a logo pack you can use with it. Just use iPhone Explorer (now called iExplorer) to do the following. If you have trouble getting it to run, run it in administrator by right clicking on the program and clicking run as admin.

Download the two files below.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5795266/iOOT...ic%20Logos.zip
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5795266/2012.tar.gz

Simply overwrite the 2012.tar zip file with the attached updated file. Put it here.
Apps/com.ootpdevelopments.iootp2012

And put the logos in Apps/com.ootpdevelopments.iootp2012/iOOTP2012.app/iOOTPData/logos.

Having trouble? Just watch my 2 minute video on how to do it below.

The logos are taken directly out of the 2011 iOOTP section and the only ones I messed with are the Tigers, Dodgers and Marlins, Astros and Diamondbacks. In those cases I fixed them to make them look better in iOOTP 12.

Enjoy

Wow, many thanks Cody!

No problem. :)

I am updating this with 2 fixes for the Astros and Diamondbacks logo. neither looked great within the game and the updated logo file will fix that.

Just out of curiosity, did you create your own tool to read/edit the DAT file?

No, actually I started a new league. Edited all of the names by hand. Saved the file. Then copied the teams.dat over to the 2012 quick. By the way, I had initially messed something up. Please download the new 2012 and use that one instead as the first one I linked to was bad. The new one works for sure and the new logo link also has the updated Houston and Diamondbacks logo.

Ah, I get it, very clever! :) I know that someone in the forums was asking about the internal structure of the DAT file in order to build a tool to read/edit the file, and I was wondering if maybe that was how you did it...

Again, thanks for taking the time to do it and share it as well!

cody8200: thanks so much for sharing these files. Any chance you could host them somewhere that doesn't require a login to download them?

Worked nice for me!
THX!!!

@Everybody: Remember that this work with placing the files with iExplorer needs be done after each update!

MikeG719 04-10-2012 11:55 AM

Cody 2 things...

I cant get the tar file to work for me it automatically quits the game.

So I decided to manually change team names and use the logos. For some reason it worked on every team except the Cubs, White Sox, and Mets.
Do I have to do something special for them?

Fiddy 04-10-2012 11:59 AM

everything worked perfect. im all set for a current 2012 season, as well as my 1986 Mets season..(both on iphone 4 and ipad)

Cody - good work
I'm a few months into the 2012 season
Will the logos update work at this stage or only for newly created seasons (historic or 2012) ?

The logos will work fine but you need to find your saved game directory instead of the data folder and then go in the saved game and click on news/html/images and replace the current logos. Hope that helps.

Hmm. Did you have the game closed out when you tried to add in the new file (all the way closed out and not accessible on the multitask menu on your iPhone)?

As far as those teams, you need to remove the (N), (A) and (N) around the teams first name (that signifies which league they are in) that ships with the game. That would be my guess as to why they weren't found.

MikeG719 04-10-2012 03:26 PM

I figured out the logos it was that there was an extra space toward the end of the city.

As far as the tar file....I'm not sure id ootp was completely shut down when I tried to transfer the file on the multitask bar. I did close it all the way out after I disconnected my phone and tried to play.

Toronto Blue Jays

cody8200 amazing work.....on the strength of your logos I decided to purchase iOOTP12 as it would make it more realistic to play.

May I ask as I am a total noob when it comes to baseball but isn't the logo in your pack for the Toronto Blue Jays the old one as the team now has a maple leaf on their logo as well now?

I don't mean to cause offence as I'm truly appreciative of what you've done and the video really helped me install them.

Finally how do we get the logos to work in the 1995 Historical game?

You're right. I should probably update the Orioles and the Blue Jays as both are new this year. I'm not sure about the historical leagues as I haven't played them. Let me take a look and see what I can do.
