SSG Hockey - Real Time NHL Sim League
 

I've just posted the application for our SSG NHL Hockey league which will use Franchise Hockey Manager 2. With the game coming out in 1 week, we'll release a league file ASAP and give folks a chance to get things ready for opening night, October 7th, when we'll have our first games simulated. Beyond that, we will follow a real-time daily schedule like all other leagues at SSG.

Expect this first season to mirror the 2015-2016 NHL season as closely as possible. We'll definitely look to adjust some rules/settings beyond this first season as the NHL does some wacky things!

We'll also likely be expanding, especially if the NHL does so next year as rumored.

Please take a look around the SSG website before quickly rushing off an application (it's not first-come-first-serve anyway). We're a unique simulation universe with an already great core of guys in our OOTP baseball league as well as our college and soon pro football leagues. We'll also be added both pro and college basketball once hockey gets off the ground and likely a FIFA league next fall. A truly year-round simulation universe!

While I'm very proud of our group of guys and our unique structure and approach, it's understandably not for everyone, so please take a look around. I hope to hear from some of you soon. We've waited a long time for a great hockey sim, and I'm excited to dive into FHM2!

I've received a good number of applications so far, and I'll be announcing the first batch of GMs in the next day or two. I still would have enough teams open to get folks a team, so if you're interested, please take a look around our site.

I'm excited to see the game's release next week, and in the meantime, we have our SSG Hockey forum open now to start discussing items pertaining to the league. Come fill out an application and join us on the forums!

We still have some teams available, and based on Cole's recommendation, we'll be releasing our league file tomorrow after the patch is out (starting a fresh game at that point).

Fill out an application if you're interested, and be sure to list a few teams you'd be interested in. You can see the available teams under the Leagues tab from the SSG website.

I've just posted to the website our catch-up calendar/schedule, an updated rules page, and a link for NHL graphics (with readme files).

We still have teams available, and once the patch drops today, I'll be uploading our first league file. Come get a team while the original batch lasts!

The league is half-full (optimist!)! Come get a team as I'll be releasing the league file today (FHM dev is looking at a thing in our league file beforehand).

We have some openings left, and our first sim is tonight at 7pm ET. Since we waiting for patches 1 and 2, we're currently on a catch-up schedule for the next week to get us caught up to the actually NHL schedule.

Seems like we will get a really active league and Mike is doing a great job as the commish, so anyone thinking about it should join up! Will be a lot of fun for sure!

Even if you have never done a hockey sim before I think this is going to be a great group to get your feet wet with so to speak. Buy the game and support OOTP. Then join this league and have some online fun. Mike is a great commissioner and easy to work with.

Attended their first home game at the Cow Palace, been a hardcore fan since the inception.

Before that my Dad took me to see the California Golden Seals.

Honestly, I struggle with this a lot, but I really feel as though you get a BETTER experience in a league when you do NOT use your own team.

We're really enjoying FHM2 and are starting the preseason schedule tonight.
