Inappropriate player nicknames
 

Our draft pool includes several players with highly inappropriate nicknames. Looking at the nicknames file in the OOTP18 database I can't even see how these could be generated. No one has edited any names in the draft class.

Screen shot attached and I will upload our league file. They are not acceptable. Screen image attached. Is it possible that a previous commissioner could have added something like this? I've been the commissioner for about half of the league's life but it goes way back. It doesn't show up in the nicknames file in the database directory. Is there someplace else I should look for?

I would guess this must've come from a previous commissioner. Basically I think the game will automatically re-use the names and nicknames previously used in-game. So to prevent this from happening again, you'd probably have to look through the retired players in the db and delete the nickname from anyone with a nickname you don't want. It might be easiest to do this vias an export of the rosters to a .csv file

Once those are deleted the game shouldn't re-use them going forward, at least in theory.

Thanks very much. Export the roster and then re-import it back to the game?

I fixed the active players by sorting by nickname and editing. There were only 7. Those in the draft pool in the screen image and 4 active players.
