A few questions on coaches and their impact

I'm playing in GM mode and have a few questions about how coaching/team personnel is handled:

1) Is it possible to take someone who is an assistant coach and promote them to head coach? This could be either when the current head coach leaves or is fired, or just hiring someone new whose role is assistant and making them a head coach. I don't see any obvious way to do this. The same question would apply to making a scout and assistant. Can the roles change or are they just locked into whatever role they are listed as?

2) When evaluating a coach to hire my inclination is to think that the most important aspect is their score on tactics and in-game tactics, but I'm not sure that is really true so was wondering if there was any guidance on this?

3) To what degree does the coaches preference for physical play impact the way the players on the roster play. For example, if I have a team that has a pretty good number of players who are physical (i.e. have high ratings for hitting) but I hire a coach whose physical preference is very non-physical. What might that mean for the players who like to, or are at least very good at, hitting? Over time will their hitting ratings come down as a result or will this really just impact the tactics the coach selects?

Thanks

I too am wondering if it is possible to promote an assistant. Would be a very cool idea. I went into commish mode and found the assistant I wanted to promote and hit EDIT but didn't see a spot to change what his job was. Maybe I overlooked it?

Not possible to promote an assistant right now, but it's been on my to-do list for a while. Hopefully in FHM4.

The tactical scores are probably the most important single rating for head coaches, but their training ratings are also significant (the head coach's training scores for most categories carry a higher weight than those of the assistants.)

The preference will mainly have an indirect effect on player choice via the tactics the coach prefers to use - a non-physical coach is more likely, all other things being equal, to choose a less physical tactic, which is probably not going to be particularly well-suited to a lineup that has a lot of physical players, and their play and morale will likely suffer (but there won't be permanent damage done to their ratings.)
