The 2010 All-in-One MLB Mod - with FaceGen!

The Historical FaceGen Project (H.F.P.) is proud to present the 2010 H.F.P. MLB All-in-One Mod!

This mod is designed to give MLB simmers everything they need to have an immersive MLB roster set, with the help of a number of fantastic community modders. The set includes the following:
  • Over 1,300 FaceGen-generated images for current MLB players. FaceGen image faces change based on player mood, age over time, and change uniforms and ballcaps when they switch teams (credit: Historical FaceGen Project Team)
  • Over 20,000 player photos, that cover almost every player in the database who doesn't have a FaceGen, including historical players (credit: Gambo and T_Wil1)
  • Real MLB and MiLB team and league logos (credit: Justafan)
  • Day and night ballpark images, captured from MLB2k10 (credit: desertfox07)
  • Custom ballcaps and jerseys for each team (credit: Reds1)
NOTE: This mod does not affect MLB games that have already been created. It only affects MLB games that you create AFTER installing this mod!

Installation Instructions - All Leagues
This mod has been made available through PadresFan's servers and OOTP's in-game add-ons functionality, so downloading and installing it should be a snap!
  1. Load OOTP and load any saved game/start a new one. (it doesn't matter which one, you just have to be in a game to get to the Add-ons Central)
  2. Navigate to OOTP Menu >> Add-ons Central.
  3. Click on Reload Add-Ons List. You should now see PadresFan's server and some add-ons in the list.
  4. Click on the Download button next to H.F.P. 2010 MLB All-in-One (all leagues).
  5. Wait for the download to complete. The mod is over 200 MB in size, so it may take a few minutes. Don't worry if it looks like it's not doing anything - it is!
  6. When it is complete, click the Install button.
  7. When that is done, return to the OOTP Main screen, and click on New 2010 Major League Game. That's it! Your new game should have all of the above!
Note: There are about 200 MB of files in this mod. When you start a new MLB game after installing this mod, OOTP will take longer to create the game than previously. This is normal!

If we use this, does it make us install and use the real player pics?

I guess what I'm asking. If we use these facegen pictures in this mod, will the real player pics override the facegen pictures, as I would rather use the facegen player pictures.

What a great addition to the game - thanks to all who would put in such time to make for a better gaming experience.

Hi,
Thank you for all your work on this.

A couple questions about the All-in-One Mod...

1) FaceGens are mentioned for the current players, but not historical players. Does that mean there are not any players with FaceGens who retired before 2010?

2) Are the historical photos suitable for trying to create FaceGens for the historical players?

3) If the answer is yes to #2 and I create any FaceGens, should I submit them to you? I have no artistic talent. Would I be able to create decebt looking FaceGens?

Thanks

I've already tried this mod, so I will jump in. Basically, it uses FaceGen models for everyone who has a FaceGen model. If it doesn't have a FaceGen model, it uses a photo. Pretty cool!

1. The Historical Facegen Project people have something like 2500 historical players done already. There will be a separate mod with those in them...

Not sure about the rest.

2) Yes, a lot of them are, though there can be some fiddling involved.
3) Yes, submitting them over at the Historical FaceGen Project would be great. Any help would be awesome. It really doesn't take too much to figure them out.

Go over to soxxcountry.com and check it out.

Cephas, if you can link me to some MLB facegen pics, I can add them to kagnew's original post. :)

So where is this? The ballparks and photos are exactly what I am looking for, but when I click this "soxxcountry" link it only goes to the facegen stuff which is not my thing. I feel totally retarded, what am I missing here, I really want to take advantage of your great work and get this in my new game but obviously I've been missing something obvious...? Help!

reds1 04-12-2010 07:07 AM

My understanding is that it will become available on PadresFan's Download website.

clwalcott 04-12-2010 07:09 AM

alright, it appears I should actually READ the post...I assumed it was a link download but this suggests its actually in the game, interesting. Sorry everyone, overly enthusiastic!

OK, next question (real one this time), I notice I can get the photos seperately which is great (personally prefer them to facegen). Can I do the same for logos and ballparks? How? Cheers.

Icy 04-12-2010 07:44 AM

I see it's already available in the "in game" Add-Ons Central, but when i click on download, it returns an error after downloading part of the file, maybe it is not fully uploaded already?

PadresFan's site is the motherload for most every mod out there.
