New Rosters
 

Just downloaded OOTP 16 yesterday. How updated should I expect the rosters to be? I notice that Jedd Gyorko is not listed as a Cardinal and that it appears there are no stats for anyone for the 2015 year. I downloaded a Sept. first roster update and everything looks the same. I guess what I am trying to say is that if this is OOTP 16, shouldn't it at least have player stats from 2015?

OOTP 16 refers to the version number, not the year:)

It's a year old game that originally came out before the 2015 season and is updated through the beginning of the 2015 season and stats through 2014.

The new version of OOTP is due to come out in a couple weeks, that will be OOTP17, which will include rosters updated to the start of the 2016 season and all 2015 stats.

Hope that clears up any confusion.

No, you didn't get had. You picked up a very good game. It's up to you how much you choose to get out of it. ;)

16 is by far the best version of OOTP ever. If you don't want to purchase 17 so soon after you purchased 16, you could play the crap out of 16, learn the game and then take advantage of one of the many sales Markus will run on 17 throughout the season. Unless my memory fails me, there's always a sale around All-Star time. Not trying to take money out of Markus' pocket, just trying to give a glass half full perspective.

Yes. My eventual goal is to play a purely fictional league, so in that case it doesn't really matter. Just seeing old players and stats kind of make me feel like I bought a not so shiny used game if you know what I mean. Which, case in point, justifies the 20$ price as opposed to 40 for brand new I suppose. I can definitely live with that as long as there will be guys still playing this version online for the time being.
