*** 5.1 Lahman Database Fix ***

OK, there is a problem with the import of the 2003 season, but also an easy fix:

Go into the teams.csv file, and scroll down to the 2003 Montreal club. There, remove the ',' inside the Stadium name and save the file.

That's it :)

Very Quick reply Markus, Thankyou

So is OOTP5's read of Lahman 5.x very sensitive? The reason I ask is because I imported my FPS league into OOTP using OOTP4 by converting old FPS stat HTMLs into Lahman format and then importing. Luckily I did this in OOTP4 because when I converted to OOTP5, I could not figure out how to do the same. With Lahman 5, it seems I would always get an error whenever I tried customizing the database.

Of course, I've forgotten to carry over retired players in FPS, so I need to import these players. Since I haven't been able to get a custom Lahman to work yet, I wonder whether it's something minor like a misplaced comma or something.

Thanks Markus, keep up the good work.

Any programs' reading of a file is going to be remarkably sensitive. It sounds like ootp looks for comma's when sifting through the database. This would seem to make sense since one of the versions of the lahman database is comma delimited.

This is just when the importer tries to read the league totals. Check the file erastats.dat in your \OOTP5\Data folder. You may add the year 2003 there and the message will disappear.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to get it to download

I think I'm having the same problem with the erastats.dat folder. I imported the 2003 stats from Lahman but they appear as "Real Stats" and not "2003 stats" and the 2003 stats do not roll into the players career numbers (the year 2003 appears blank). I opened the erastats.dat file but do not know how to modify it. I opened it in a spreadsheet program but cannot resave it in ".dat" format. Also, do I just add the year, or the league totals for that year as well? Any idea if this would solve the problem? Thanks for all the help. These boards are fantastic for rookies such as I.

There continues to be a problem with HR talent ratings, no excellent or good, and the highest hit talent rating is average in remaining career. Please advise on a fix.

Ok, even stranger ... when I review the career stats for Manny Ramirez and Trot Nixon there is no 2002. Other players have 2002 stats however. This is only in the career numbers. I imported from Lahman, import year 2003. Anyone else notice this?

What totals do you add beside the 2003? Where do I find them?

MrEvolution 02-19-2004 11:20 PM

i don't have "access" can someone fix the montreal comma and post the file here?

blmeanie 02-20-2004 04:33 PM

Markus, when I remove the "," from the teams.csv and add 2003 to the eradata file I still cannot import from 2003. It says that it must be between years xxxx-2001. I am trying to import only one team from 2003, does that have anything to do with my problem?

I just tried importing the entire season into a historical league and that worked fine. Is there a fix for the importing of one team?

blmeanie 02-20-2004 08:52 PM

nevermind, got it to work

This is the point I'm stuck at now! ;)

I'm going to try tinkering with the erastats.dat and see what happens! :)

LAH 02-27-2004 10:53 PM

Should I try to install the new Lahman with the '03 season or is it acting weird or giving strange ratings?

BasicGuy 04-16-2004 02:19 AM

Just one question....Will this little fix still be needed for OOTP6?

CHCfan 04-20-2004 11:32 PM

So . . . do we need to remove the 'Hiram Bithorn' part too?
