Roster set issues (MLB, MiLB & international & independent rosters) go here!

Hey guys,

we want to constantly improve the real roster set, so please post issues you run across here once the game is released. Keep in mind though, it is not Opening Day yet, so these rosters are meant to be projections and obviously not the final version.

Please do not post issues with players being on wrong roster / lineup / pitching staff spots, the AI sets these up and there is nothing we can do to force player X to be used in a certain predefined way.

Also, do not post stuff like "Trout just hit .260 in my sim, this cannot be right." or "Why has X better ratings than Y?". Posts like these will be ignored! Major league player ratings are based on ZiPS projections, not opinion.

Please, please before you make any comments in this thread that touch on ratings or rankings, turn off scouting. If you're commenting when you still have scouting on, it's inaccurate, confusing and a waste of both our time and your own.

Please post here:
- Errors in contracts
- Issues with players being in the wrong organization
- Vastly wrong player ratings (disable scouting first so you see the real ratings), for example a Double-A scrub having allstar-calibre ratings

Thanks for helping!
Markus

Ok, yeah the three year extension should be kicking in at the end of the contract, since we can only do a 10 year base deal, but it's not.

We'll get that sorted out.

Domingo German is listed as out of options from the get go, yet I know he has one option year left (https://www.rosterresource.com/mlb-new-york-yankees)

Eric Thames needs a service time boost so if his option gets declined this year, he's a free agent and not arbitration eligible

Seems German actually has a 4th option year (http://riveraveblues.com/2019/01/bri...option-182626/).

So we're technically right, but wrong in practical terms.

We'll set his options to 2, so he still has one left.

Looks like the player history on a lot of guys has not loaded. I,E trade history, draft selection history. Is there anyway to get this addressed? it adds a lot to the game.

It should be there for the vast majority of guys, though we're working on updating it in a lot of cases. At least the most basic stuff like draft selection history should be there.

Can you give me some examples where it's missing?

Auto-Renew Salaries Above League Minimum

Yoshihisa Hirano is auto-renewed to receive the same salary after his two-year contract ends. I know this is the case for most signings for players with less than six years of service time, but is there any way to allow teams to agree to new terms for players in these circumstances?

I'm sure there are other examples but he's the first I've found. Sometimes these players get raises or paycuts moving forward, even if the team retains them.

Rusney Castillo

His contract releases him to free agency after the guarantee, despite his lack of major league service time, if I'm not mistaken.

Also, I don't know if you guys have a generated image for him, but it's not part of his profile if one exists.

Same goes for Yaisel Sierra, re: picture and contract situation.

I believe these are just arbitration estimates/placeholders. The actual numbers will be different when the process plays out.

We only have images for guys on the 40-man rosters (or at least that have been on the 40-man rosters sometime recently, which he hasn't iirc).

Michael King, SP, NYY has nothing under history, one example I've found.

I've found this as well, especially with minor leaguers (i.e. missing draft pick, when signed out of a certain country, etc.).

I may not have worded my question well. For players pre-arbitration, the game auto-renews the player's most recent salary. As in, since he made $3M in his second year, he'll make it again every (in this case, only year 3) until he hits arbitration.

Is there any way to change that?

There is a free agent manager named Bill Sandillo who is listed at 0 years old.

The int guys are much more likely to be missing this info that drafted guys. Guys who signed as UDFA's as well, though most of them should have their signing history. Typically though, almost no drafted guys should be missing this info. If they are, it's definitely a bug and I'd need to know the answers to the question in the next post.

Huh, that's weird. King has two history entries in the db and both show up in my game:

2016-06-06
Drafted by the Miami Marlins in the 12th round (353rd) of the 2016 MLB June Amateur Draft from Boston College (Chestnut Hill, MA).

2017-11-20
Traded by the Miami Marlins to the New York Yankees with Future Considerations for P Caleb Smith and 1B Garrett Cooper.

What did you do to generate that save, is it a quickstart or a new standard game? Other leagues loaded or just MLB?

I do not see anyone by that name in the db, can you check and make sure it's correct? Thanks!
