OOTP 14 Update, Version 14.7.42 available!
 

Hey guys!

We have just released the seventh update for OOTP 14, the version number is now 14.7.42. This is a maintenance release, it fixes many reported bugs and improves features. It is 100% save-game compatible with previous versions of the game.

Update: This version fixes the disappearing owners and Mac crash issues of build 14.7.40.

Changes in this update, compared to version 14.6:

• Added 'Clean up scouting database' function to the scouting settings (game setup screen). This is useful for online leagues as it greatly reduces the league file size.
• Fixed several bugs.
• Improved performance on Mac computers

UPDATE INFO:

To apply the patch, simply download the setup file, run it and and install the game over your current installation. Alternatively, for PC only, there is a smaller patch file which will update your current installation properly. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. If you have modified any default files, please make sure you backup these files and restore them after the update. Your saved games are not touched and will remain compatible with the new version. This version is also compatible to version 14.6, 14.5, 14.4, 14.3, 14.2, 14.1 and 14.0 online league files.

I'm playing OOTP from Steam. How could I update?

Thanks Markus. I have never really had a problem with any version but the continuous updates and the fact that you keep up with the current versions until the end is much appreciated, and admired by all.

I had started playing OOTP 13 because 14 was not working on my Pro Retina Macbook. So far so good.

One thing I noticed is that my function keys are disabled when I play full screen. If that is the price for it to work, I am ok with it. Just didn't know if I am experiencing a feature or a glitch.

Thanks for the update. Justifies my continued support, with OOTP 15 already pre-ordered.

The key chime problem on the Mac is fixed! Yay!

The visible dimming of the interface is still there but if you could only fix one, you picked the right one...

One of my leagues used this and subsequently all player development reports were erased. Has anyone else seen this?

If you use the 'Scout Database Cleanup' if will only leave one scouting report per year per active player (and dev reports are generated form scouting reports). So when you go to the Player Dev reports make sure you set the time frame to at least 1 year or you may not see anything.

I have cleaned up our online league scouting database and it worked as advertised for us.

This patch is looking good in all aspects, it appears to me. Except for that nagging blank full screen problem but which to me is not an issue anyway because I prefer a maximized 1920 x 1080 window for game play.

First game with the patch: Opening Day. My pitcher had a 3-hit shutout, we won 3-0... and the game crashed on the achievement screen. Second time around he was injured in the 1st inning, out for the season.

In conclusion, this patch does not fix my horrendous luck.

Something to consider for online leagues:
1. Commish up dates to new patch
2. Not all owners patched to latest
3. When commish runs next sim and trades occur,"sometimes" players involved get released automagically.by receiving team

This has happened in 2 on line lgs I am in, I don't really know if its a patch issue, just throwing it our as a caution

So I did the Command+Tab to minimize OOTP14 on my Macbook Pro in full screen, but now I can't get it to bring the screen back up to play. I have to exit out of the game to play again. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong.

Thanks for the update. Just to let you know that the update did not show up automatically within the game...had to download from site....not a big deal just letting you know. ..

also game becomes unplayable after the draft for me,have to exit and load again to continue.

For Mac versions, does it appear that this patch has corrected the gameplay with facegen? Currently, the game is unplayable or slow with an older version for me.

it doesnt delete everyone from ur shortlist when u click on clean up scoutng database does it?
