I figured it would be fun if we had a place to discuss how our teams were performing in tournaments, separate from the weekly discussion thread.

Have at it.

Currently in the 64 team Gold tourney. I saw one of Orcin's teams in there.

I cant WAIT to get home from work and start tinkering and make an all bronze and a silver and under league!

I didnt notice.... is there an iron only tourney?

Entered the 64 team 1500-Cap tourney that starts in 18 minutes or so.

Boy was I unprepared for setting a team for that :p Much messing around later I found the min. 20-man size and min 4-bullpen roles, heh.

Edit: I take it back, the game didn't save my roster :o (I did it before the tournament filled, then when I loaded the 'active' tournament, it didn't have my roster :( )

Actually found it much easier the 2nd time :p

Goes without saying that Lefty Grove got blown up huuuuge in Game 1 :crying::laugh:

Shane Greene closes out the 3-2 win in the bottom of the 9th to send us to our first tournament decider! :ohmy: Already fun :)

Well the series up to the final, at least in the tournament I'm in, are best of 3, but the finals are best of 5, so could go either way :p:laugh:

there aren't rest or travel days in tourneys right

There are not, apparently, and my team are about to suffer for it :laugh::crying:

Edit: Still, 1B Jose Osuna (58) hitting a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 8th to take us through to the next round? That'll be remembered forever <3

There can be if you finish your series before the team you are playing next round.

I think that tourneys are pretty great overall but needs a lot of consolidation. There are way too many options that are all basically the same splitting up the user base. The more choices then the longer it takes for any to fill.

Yeah I just looked at how many there are :ohmy: I'm probably only gonna do one at a time too, heh.

(Tournaments are ideal for 'hiding scores' and watching 'live' too)

There are so many tournament options! I'm a little overwhelmed.

And they haven't even introduced Non-Live cards as an option yet (probably several others filters that I've been paying less attention to)

It may take a bit to find the optimal balance between variety and turnover, but that should be expected for a new feature like this.



In the meantime, I'm just joining a couple random tournaments to help them fill up and to have a chance at rewards which appear to be live after all. I'll put more effort into team creation soon enough, but I can only do so many things at once. And it doesn't help that I'll be binging The Mandalorian soon as well :laugh:

So far I have an open lineup and a silver lineup (though with no position training it hasn't done great). I've just been throwing them into 8 or 16 man quick starts whenever I have a slot open but it is a real chore to find the right one. I did win an 8 man open for 250 sweet points but haven't been able to look through the log yet.

Definitely doing a lot of things sub-optimally, I think these 8 man might just be best of one and I still have a 5 man rotation lol.

Lost my 2 silver tournies so far and I'm in the daily iron only
