Best way to simulate building a new stadium?

I've been playing the FBL 2012 quickstart game. I started with Vancouver which has a stadium capacity of about 38K. I sell out every game because years of winning has turned Vancouver into the New York Yankees of this fictional world. What I want to know is if anyone has any ideas for the best way to "simulate" building a new stadium. I know I can just go in there and tweak a bunch of things and make it house more people, but I wanted to make it feel like it was part of the "League Evolution" part of the game. Anyone have any thoughts or try this in their game?

Perhaps put out a news story saying that the team has a lease for a new stadium, then after 3 seasons or so edit the stadium to be what you want the new stuff to be, and up the fan interest modifier to get some of the early fanfare going. Perhaps also use random number generators to decide whether it will be publicly funded or not, which could change the rate of speed for the building of the stadium?

I tend to take some cash out of a club and then up the fan interest when moving a club into a new stadium.

I have been asking for a new stadium builder feature for years but no one ever seems to get behind it and Markus has never been interested.
This is one of the (very) few areas where Baseball Mogul is superior. BM allows you to build a new stadium, simulates the finances of doing so and allows you so input into the new stadium you are building.
To be such a advanced game OOTP is still very primitive when it comes to stadiums. It simulates the park effects and capacities but that is about it.

I used to run an Excel spreadsheet I made that was a pretty basic stadium creator.
You would input a stadium capacity, whether the stadium was open air, roofed or retractable and the overall niceness of the stadium (basic, below average, average, very good and excellent)
You would then run the spreadsheet and it would give you a stadium cost. It would give a certain random % of it as what the city would raise and then the rest would be financed through a loan between 20-40 years and it would give you an interest rate.
I always too took some of the teams in game cash and used it to lessen the need for a loan.
Then after each season in game I would take some of the teams money to use as a loan payment and run the interest myself.

Also years ago a moder posted an Excel spreadsheet where you could input altitude and fence distances and it would give you park factors. I combine the two when I want to do a new stadium but I gave up doing it several version ago.

It is complicated and a lot of work and really by version 13 the game should do it for you.
But hey, the game has 5 skins!!!!1111

It seems like such a cool sounding feature. Everyone's fan interest drops slowly over a period of about 30 years and they have to pay to remodel or build a new building. Maybe have options like "Tall Left field fence" etc to make things interesting. It's a shame really.

Any chance you remember what happened to the old spreadsheet?

I would be interested in this too.

It may be on one of my external HDDs. I have not used the spreadsheet in several versions since I simply don't play OOTP as much as I used to. I will take a look and see if I can find it and if I can I will post it in the mods section with instructions on how to use it.
You need some Excel knowledge to be able to input the various figures and then run it. It is not as simple as pushing a button and getting the output that you need.
i.e. why I said the game should finally include this feature.

To be fair, stadiums (should) tie into the financial system in a big way, since that's how it is in the real world. Which means stadiums would be part of a larger financial model overhaul.
