Template request: 1988 Donruss and/or 1988 ProCards

I'm getting ready to start the 1987 season, so I was looking for 1988 card sets. There's an excellent '88 Score set available, but I was wondering if somebody could make Donruss (perhaps the most over-produced set ever...Dale Murphy's smiling face was selling those things EVERYWHERE. I even remember seeing them in hardware stores!) or the underrated gold-bordered 1988 ProCards set.

Donruss:

ProCards:

Topps and Fleer are probably un-doable for '88, because of the diagonal designs. But if anybody could do either - or better yet, both - of the sets I mentioned, that would be great. Thanks!

I will be indisposed all week. In fact, my summer is lining up to b pretty busy. Can't commit to anything for a little while

Ah, okay. I know I hadn't seen you around here as much lately. No problem, it happens. Happened to me a couple weeks ago, and I'm still running behind on jersey-making.

Maybe klavier can add this to his already long list of card templates. Or some rookie can try his hand at it. I'd give it a whirl, but I don't think I'd have the patience for all the fiddly bits with the xml.

I can probably start on the Donruss one this weekend, doesn't look too time consuming

I actually have a 1990 Donruss template. How do I upload a template?

ThatSeventiesGuy 07-04-2013 03:22 PM

You mean upload it to this site? I think you have to use one of those file-sharing sites. I've only done Photobucket stuff so far, no files yet, so I'd kinda like to know myself.

If the zip file is less than 100k you can attach it to your post, if it's larger you can try the ootpmods site.

88 donruss v14.zip

ThatSeventiesGuy - I didn't test it in v11 but everything except for the HOF card should work in that version, so I included a separate HOF version that should work for you (hof_v11.xml). Let me know if it doesn't.

Thanks! They look good so far. I think I might try to tackle that 1988 ProCards set myself. Maybe make a niche as the minor league cards guy, as well as the minor league uniforms guy.

The beautiful thing about ProCards is the backs were usually about the same every year, which means minimal tweaking. 1989's been done already, 1990 and 1991 look pretty easy to do. '91 in particular might be fun, since it's such a unique design (the notepad thing). Now that I know my X's from my Y's (I think!) I should be able to do it...I hope!

I figure if nothing else, I can maybe save you, Silvam, fhomess and everybody some time, so you guys can concentrate on the big-league sets.

They came out pretty nice in OOTP11...just a little difference in the font.
