player performance help!
 

As noted in an earlier post, I am trying to recreate a league I played in years ago. I have drafted all the players that were in the league and played a few exhibition games. Sadly, great pitchers like Walter Johnson, Cy Young, Silver King are getting the dog crap beat out them--and I can't figure out why. In addition, their ratings are only 1 or 2 stars. For Example, Walter Johnson (5 Stars) gave up 12 runs in an exhibition game. I think it must be in the settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The league was made up of players from the early day to 1988.
