Is there a way of having real minors?

Am I missing an option here, basically, I started following baseball in 1998 when I spent a year in Florida, how lucky was that!

So I want to just start the world from that point, each time I do it, I either get reserve roster or minor affiliations which I don't believe are correct.

How do you play as it has been right up to this point in time?

Choose that option when you create your league and you will get the real minor league structure and player.

If you want future prospects to be part of their original organization I think you also have to turn off the Amateur Draft option as well.

correct! and DO NOT mark them to be free agents.
