Excel help needed -- dates before 1900
 

I'm attempting to roll back the birth years of my fictional league from the 23rd second back to the 19th century.

The simple way should be to export the player data to excel (which I've done) and use a formula to subtract 400 years from the birth year). This works perfectly if the resulting birth year is after 1/1/1900. Excel does not recognize dates before 1/1/1900.

Anyone know how to work around this? I see that OOTP's historical league exports 19th century birth years as a text string, not an actual date (e.g. 1849-1-29 [text] and not 1/29/1849 [data]).

Would it import dates properly if I left them as a text string? If so, the answer would be:

• Convert original 23rd century date to text string.
• Pull out year as a value. Subtract 400 from the valute.
• Convert result to a text string, and place it into the full text string with mm/dd/yyyy for import back into OOTP.

Would this work? Would any of you Excel experts know how to accomplish this? Thanks.

It took a few hours, but I was able to successfully update players.csv to include the pre-1900 dates.

Problem is... I have no idea how to re-import the revised players.csv file into the game. I searched and searched and don't see how. I'm sure its obvious, but does anyone know?
