Storyline Editing Docs

Id like to do some storyline editing to add some of my own storylines to my fictional world just to add some more immersion etc.. but Im having a hard time finding any docs on the various parameters, variables and other pieces that are available. Some of the older manuals had pages for it but they are blank and have been removed in newer ones. Also found some old threads from the boards with some info.

Could probably muddle through it by just reading through the storylines file and messing with the pieces but it would be nice to have some starting information.

First of all, kudos to you for wanting to write storylines. If you ever want to submit ideas for inclusion in OOTP, just send me a PM and we can maybe work something out.

That being said, I don't envy your task of writing storylines on your own. I don't know what resources are available out there, but there aren't many, and, as you point out, they're probably out of date. Right now, storylines occupy a small niche in the OOTP world. If more people like you expressed an interest in writing them, then there would probably be more resources made available.

Haha well like I said I thought it would add a nice little extra element to my heavily modded save so figured Id give it a go. I also enjoy trying to figure these things out as well so we'll see how it goes. So far been just writing a python parser to dump all the various tags and attributes out to see whats available and then take a look how their used in the storylines file.

Anyone have info on this? I also would love to add something to my game.

There's an XML file in C:\Users\Shadow\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 21\storylines that has the format and you would edit that document but I'd use an XML editor to do it [like visual studio code, which is free] so you can preserve the markup. It's not seamless, because there are tokens but once you get the hang of it, it's not too terrible if you have time to waste.

Then it'd be sharable once you were done with the file.
