Tie Breaking

What is the tie breaker for relegation?

In addition to what you can see in the picture below (holy crap, I made it work!), I should mention that I am in the same division as the Gold Rush. My city name is "Midwestern State" while theirs is "Tulsa," since I realize that having multiple words can create confusion too.

Given the way awards used to happen, I wonder if it happens alphabetically. Quick, rename your team to AAAAMidwestern State!

I have no idea but I would like to think they look at head to head, etc.

Head to head between the 3 tied teams would be first. I believe second is "intra-division" games (ie. your record against your division) (which, yes, is a stupid rule when tied teams may be in different divisions but it's the MLB rules). After that I think it can come down to runs score/runs against in various ways of calculating.

Thank you for the response. I am pleased to learn that it is not based on naming conventions. It is great that the rules are based on MLB.

However, if the rules are stupid, then why not change it to something that increases in-game balance and competition? Its not like the rule would ever be used to relegate an actual MLB team, after all... As it stands, a team is being relegated despite being 119 runs better according to the differential. When considering the Pythagorean records, it feels like the decision is based largely on luck.

It doesn't help much either that I don't know where to go to find our head-to-head-to-head records.

League Reports menu has a team vs team section.

Just a thought but they may be obligated to use MLB format. Or if they would change something why not change more things... It's an MLB licensed game, so it probably makes most sense to go with current MLB standards.
