Updating my in-game help
 

OOTP's in-game help synchronizes with an online manual. Over the coming weeks we will continue to improve the content of the manual. So, how do you get updated help content?

OOTP 9 has a preference setting called Online features that determines what OOTP does about that. It's in the Game Preferences on the Main page, or accessible through the Game Menu.

By default, OOTP has this value set to "update old files." This basically means that OOTP will update help files as needed, but only when they are more than a week old. This option requires an internet connection.

There is another option called "always download" which also requires an internet connection. In this case, OOTP will always download new help content. This makes the F1 key a little slower to respond, but it ensures you're always getting the latest content.

If you have an active internet connection, I personally recommend you set the Online Features value to "always download," especially in the early going while the online manual is still undergoing daily content changes!
