Importing liveball hitters into deadball era?

Hey gang,

Just a quick question about something I've been toying with over the last few days. I have a fictional league with stats and settings set to 1911. (I have also replicated this problem in a default 1911 historical league) When I import sluggers from the liveball era, they end up hitting waaaay too many homers, regardless of the settings I use for import. For example, I had Mantle hit 44 homers in 84 games. In 1911. Is this how importing historical players is supposed to work? I was expecting the historical players to lead the league in homers, but not to be hitting them at rates that are way more than the historical league numbers.

Any suggestions / help / ideas would be appreciated.

Just did a test 1911 Historical League. I did adjust Hitters with 110 AB and weaken hitters with 60 AB.

I then imported Juan Gonzalez from 1996. 66 Contact and 128 Power.

Signed with the Boston Rustlers on June 12th. That gives him about 100 games to play, considering where I'm at in the Standings. Sherry Magee leads all with 9 HR.

Final Year Stats: 78 Games, .369/.417/.677 with 18 HR and 50 RBI.

Hit .391 and slugged .750 at home (Boston Park was 1.154 HR Factor) compared to .349 and .613 on the road. He hit 10 HR at home and 8 on the road.

Frank Schulte hit 16 with a 111 rating with 11 HR on the road (Cubs Park was .963 HR Factor). Sherry Magee hit 19 with a 109 rating with 10 HR at home (Phillies Park was 1.005 HR Factor).

I dunno what to say. May have something to do with not neutralizing their stats/ratings for the era they are coming into?
