Maybe add phantom DL?
 

We all know teams do it from time-to-time when there's a roster crunch and a guy isn't performing up to par, and they need relief from that player for a few weeks while they get a look at a possible replacement. I am of course referring to the phantom DL. Being able to put players on the DL who don't necessarily have an injury, but you just want to give them some rest while freeing up a roster spot.


Not sure how it could be implemented, but every team does it IRL.
