PBL - Paramount Baseball League
 

The Paramount Baseball League has a core of veteran GM's that have supported this league for many seasons (and years IRL). Whether you are a veteran of online or looking to commit to learning, building and, most importantly, sticking with your franchise, we could use a few new GM's!

PBL started as a real life MLB online league but we're just wrapping up the 2041 season so the players are, of course, fictional but the spirit and structure is all MLB. PBL also expanded by two teams many years ago to include both a Carolina franchise and the return of baseball to Montreal and that adds to the overall story of the league. PLUS, at that time, the league realigned to a somewhat NFL-like division structure and playoff structure. While that does change things slightly from a purely MLB standpoint, it was thoroughly endorsed and has added a LOT to the league from a competitive and interest standpoint.

This is a GREAT league with a GREAT Commissioner (Red Sox) and, if you put in the time with your team, you will have a lot of fun!

We are playing OOTP 17 (and plan to update once 18 is out and stable for online of course).

Sims are Every Night (unless notified by Commissioner) and one week in-game at a time.

I am here to advertise one of the greatest Online OOTP leagues that's ever existed.

Paramount Baseball League, or the PBL is seeking dedicated GM's to helm one of the 4 teams currently available.

Let me give you some info on the league.

The PBL features one of the most dedicated commish's in the community. He does way more for the league then anyone could possibly expect. There really is no way to describe how lucky our little group is to have Derek. His presence alone should be enough to attract potential GM's.

The league is currently entering the 2040's, and has been around, for, i believe 4 real life years! If your looking for a league that will be around tomorrow, you just found one.

There are several original GM's, and many "replacements" that are completely invested, and involved with the league. We care about this thing, and it shows. Activity is fairly high. We communicate on our forums, and there's almost always something new being posted, or discussed.

Several GM's right annual articles, or hold discussions on the state of affairs, or whatever is on their minds. Some make predictions, some analyze things...There's something for everyone.

The League is competitive. Winning in this league is tough. If you want a challenge, you found one. These guys know what they are doing, and do it well. That doesn't mean new guys aren't welcome. The community is very helpful, supportive, and always willing to help out anyone with questions about anything. Several newer OOTPers have gone on to great success.

We sim fairly quickly. There really is no set sim schedule. Our commish likes to sim 4-5 times a week, sometimes more, and on occasion less. He always posts that day if there will be a sim taking place. Sims take place at night, and cover 1 week at a time. It's a system I personally love, and many other have gotten very used to.

Bottom line is this league is special. And we are looking for GM's that want to be in a special league, and want to be around for the long haul. If that's you, please drop me a line through pm....Please tell me why you want to join the league.

Id like to take over, but this would be my first online league and I don't know squat about any of the online portions of the game. I have a couple 300-400 hours on previous versions total, so I know the game but I would need help with uploading and stuff.

We have just tenatively filled our last team.

Still need a couple of dedicated GM's for a couple of franchises that each offer a slightly different challenge.

ChiSox have always had a monster budget, have a couple of pieces already in place and, with some care could be an immediate factor. Or you could tear down and rebuild it the way you want!

The Royals, in every league it seems, are a "small market" challenge. The PBL version will require some work, but I can assure you this franchise can win it all with some thought and a solid plan!

If you enjoy a challenge, this could be your biggest!
OR, as stated above, this could be an IDEAL opportunity for a new-to-online GM as you could tinker away and learn the game and not screw anything up too badly in the process!

Most likely this is the best online league out there !

I spent 2,5 years (real life) in this - my first online - league and it was a great experience.

I had to leave because of time reasons, but if I'd get back into online leagues, I definitely would look no further !
