1973 Topps Template

I started on this, but found out that I don't know how to make all the text upper case... I think it is neat that we can have different images to show the position instead of just text. Topps did this in 73 and again in '76, I believe..
Here's what I have so far, haven't started on the back of the card, yet. (and need to get it to show the player name and team name in upper-case.. ) |
...guess I wasn't the only one busy tonight.
These look great so far. I haven't figured out how to use uppercase or small caps either. The UD uses small caps (i.e all caps with big first letter) for the player name. My xml isn't that great. |
Nice!
|
I don't know if this will work. I've only dabbled in XML a little. This is from an HTML/XML book I have.
text-transform property <p style="text-transform:none">This text is completely normal.</p> substitute lowercase, uppercase or capitalize (first character in a paragraph is a capital letter) for 'none' |
Hey Dave, just wondering if you have made any progress on these?

Alrighty.. here's an update..
I still can't get the letters to be all caps, so I will ignore that for now, at least. In the real card, the top portion would have a little fact or something about the player. I added in random baseball trivia, instead. Not sure what to do with the bottom part, yet, but here are a few examples so far. |
I like what you've done here looks really good.
|
These look great Dave :D
|
The position icon is just so fantastic.
|
When will you be releasing these gems? :flowers:

Great job on these - classic set. The Freddie Patek from this set is one of my favorite cards. It is a landscape-oriented action shot of him turning a double play. One question: Can you get the game to choose which position icon to use? Or do you have to manually change it? |
I will be releasing the set soon..
To get the position to show correctly, I just have a graphic named as the short position name with .png.. and will select the correct one automatically. For the trivia, I just have them as graphics naming them as 1 to 99 and have it chose whichever one is the same as the player's jersey number. If there isn't a specific one for that player's number, it just uses a default one instead. |

I'm trying to send this to PadresFan right now but it's 13MB and my connection (satellite) is sucking horribly right now.. If it doesn't go through tonight I will try again tomorrow...
|

These are fantastic. For anyone wondering, works great in fictional play also...
|
These are excellent, one of my favorites!
|
What did you change the trivia image name to? Do you just drop the number? Great to see Frenchy on a card like that!

1973_topps_metros.png Remember to change it in the default.xml file as well... content="1973_topps_metros.png" |
these are awesome, but I have no idea on what to do with them? Could someone give me a quick tutorial on how to get these into the game?
Cheers, dcc |
The readme.txt that I posted here is pretty much applicable to any card right now. For anyone making templates feel free to shamelessly steal the readme.
|
thanks a bunch!!!

If you haven't found it already, I also included the .psd file for anyone who has Photoshop and wants to create their own Trivia or whatever, too! |

So I tweaked some of the placement of the stats on the back to make them line up better, imo, and this is what I got. Notice, he has 10,000+ AB and , though tight, everything still fits.
Here's the new code for default.xml: Quote:

And I redid the pitchers too (removing Hits, because it felt too squished for me).

This is awesome. Thanks for the adjustments, cephasjames.

Hall of Fame card. Thanks, Dave, for doing these. This is by far my favorite design.
|
This is growing to be one of, if not, my favorite card layouts. Apologies for being either a bit dense or lazy, but can someone explain simply how and just where to change the league logo in the xml to reflect one's own?
Additionally, it appears cephasjames' latest adjustments have enhanced even further the already outstanding efforts by davwms and DreamTeam. Is that coding what's contained in full in one of the posts above? Thanks in advance and for all of your efforts. |

Does anyone keep the trivia cards in tact? :-)
I just know not to bother with that next time.. LOL... |

I thought the trivia was a nice touch. |
sorry for this, but for the life of me I cant figure how to get these updated individual xmls from here into the folder...

If you "click" on them, you should get the option to save them. You can then save them to your saved game bb card folder (or wherever you like). |
for someone new to this , can someone please explain to me what these are for? Does the game normally make baseball cards and these are vastly improved versions? How do i add these to my game - will it automatically do it for me, if so how?
