UFC's "Universal Mom"

Mom sees son play college ball for the 1st time in his last home game. He left home 7 years ago shorter than her. He grew.

Tacko Fall is my favorite story of this NCAA season. I hope UCF go on a run in the tournament. And it's an outside shot but I hope some NBA team takes a shot on him with a very late 2nd round pick or invites him to summer league/training camp.

But even if that does not work out he has a near 4.0 GPA in electrical engineering to fall back on. Even at age 23 I think he has already won at life.

I think he'll be in someone's camp. You can't coach 7'6".

No, but this is also 2019 and not 1980. He can't even play 25 minutes a game for UCF due to stamina issues without getting winded and his FT shooting has actually gotten worse this season. He is shooting an abysmal 36% from the FT line.

I agree a team will probably work him out in a camp. But it's nice that his academic performance means if he chooses to not bother with the G-League or Europe or China then he can easily get a job in the tech sector.

The US has some really terrible labor law. But discriminating against those that are or might become pregnant is a lawsuit just waiting to happen.
And if they are dumb enough to put it in writing then they are truly dumb.

Don't know how it is in other countries, but I think the USA is like everyone else in allowing powerful business to direct government. When you think about it, the Civil War was about the wealthy not wanting to change the way they treated labor. 9/11 was due considerably to the FAA cow-towing to the airline industry's wish for less security. You can thank congress handcuffing the FDA for the opioid crisis. The system is geared to allow corporate America to get what they want at the expense of the individual citizen.

We are not perfect over here, but we do tend to side with private citizens on things like privacy, consumer and labor law.

In the US things like universal maternity leave has not even been adopted yet.

Europe also gives longer vacations, 4 day work weeks, afternoon siestas, etc. Consumers here have to buy tons of options and services they don't want in order to have access to a product. We have actually made "pay for only what you need" sound like a bonus option. "By the people, for the people" is a bunch of hogwash.
