Postseason No Hitters?

So I just got no hit in Game 7 of the 1913 World Series by Christy Mathewson, though I only lost 4-2 as Matty walked five and the Phillies (I put him on the Giants for historical accuracy purposes, and after going 253-160 for them, they trade him straight up for a guy who just got drafted in the 9th round) made three errors behind him. How often do you guys notice postseason no-hitters or other phenomenal postseason achievements?

I have had one. Just one. Sandy Kofaux in a league I started in 1941, and went mostly off historical (but they didn't go to their teams, and I acquired him as Chicago White Sox GM), pitched a no-hitter to win Game 7 of the World Series.

In my historical league Curt Young pitched a no-hitter in game 7 of the 1984 World Series for the Angels to defeat the Phillies.

I almost missed it, I was managing the Mets.

Could not believe it!

ha, funny this thread topic should come up, i just came here to post that in a historical Blue Jays replay (starting in 77, players go to debut teams), Scott Sanderson pitched a no-hitter for the Mets in 1989 to win Game 7 over the Kansas City Royals. Happened just now!

About once every 54 years.

Interesting that all of these examples were Game 7's. I've seen a few in fictional leagues, too, but never in a Game 7.

Never in post season in either of my dynasties, although have had some shut outs to win the Series in my Cubs dynasty. Coming to find that for me, the final week of the season can be more exciting and fun to watch than any Series games so far..

I recorded one with Orel Hershiser (against the Mets) in the 1986 NLCS. Hershiser had reached the 9th inning with a no-hitter twice previously only to lose it.

Just had another, and for the second time, I was on the losing end. Chris Sale (who in my QS turned into San Koufax Mark II, 250-114, 2.74 ERA and 0.97 career WHIP and is coming off a 25-4, 1.98ERA season with 31 walks and 328 K
s) just no hit me in game 1 of the 2025 ALCS, with no walks, 17 K's, and the only Boston baserunner reaching via an E5 in the 3rd.

This wasn't post-season, but was playing as GM of Reds in 09. We played the Cubs home n home, Mon - Wed in Chicago, Thurs off day, Fri - Sun in Cincy. Ole 3 fingers no-hit us in back to back starts. 54 up n 54 down. Threw a perfect game on Tues and no-no Fri. Almost had back to back perfect games. He walked the 26th batter on Fri, then got the DP to end it.

Stuff like this makes it fun even when you lose both games :)
